Quiet, clean and comfortable. Ironing room, free tea and coffee, good wi-fi access is available on all floors, on the first floor a few computers with web camera and nice area for relaxation. Nearby there is a street with Thai food. Where you can find fresh fruit, noodles and more.

HI Sukhumvit loses a half a star for being far from many attractions (not a full one because it's 3 minutes from Thong Lo station) and another half for value. That being said, it's clean, comfortable, well-decorated, next to the best night food stalls, in a safe upscale neighborhood, near many great restaurants and a big movie theater. Remember that taxis are very cheap when the meter is used and all drivers know how to get here!

The location is pretty good, steps away from the tram. There is pretty good food on the street at night.

The room was pretty bare, but served its purpose. The staff was not helpful, getting any help was a difficult task. The free breakfast was just a few pieces of toast and instant coffee.

Location: Excellent. About 200m from Thong Lo Station, a Post Office is round the corner and just outside the door is one of the most famous street-food streets in the city (Must tries inc. chicken satays, crispy pork and rice and mango and sweet sticky rice)

Breakfast: Included. Usual hostel offerings of cereals, toast and hot drinks.

Pros:
+ Good wifi throughout (Inc access to a couple of PCs)
+ Dorm room beds have curtains around them, a personal light and hooks.
+ Good options for long term luggage storage.

Cons:
- The rooms have air-con but its switched off centrally from 11:00-18:00. Even when it's 35°c+ outside!
- Some room may be up quite a few flights of stairs if that is an issue for you.
- Quite a lot of mosquitos about and no mesh on any windows.

Would I recommend to friends: Yes for the street food. No for the air-con.

Two things I loved about the location:

1. Extremely short walk to the skytrain
2. Located off a food market street!

Hostel itself was decent. There were lockers outside the rooms, where you need a lock, and I found it was hard to find a spare one. Bathrooms were clean, had no problem with the beds. It's not a fancy hostel, but the location more than makes up for it,I think (but I'm always hungry and don't like walking in Bangkok, so a little biased)

Rooms were a decent size, bath room and rooms we always very clean, day time staff was friendly and helpful however the night staff during our stay was unhelpful and unfriendly. We learned to save our questions for the day time staff. Location is OK, there is a food market on the street at night, great for the authentic Thai dining experience, and the hotel is walking distance to the MBT (sky train).

The location in Sukhumvit is really excellent. You are right beside the skytrain and can get a taxi to the main tourist parts. Taxis are relatively cheap, even though traffic is very busy. There are food stalls on the same street as the hostel every night. You can also get cheap fruit shakes. You are also very close to Terminal 21 which has a brilliant food court and supermarket. We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our trip to Bangkok. It is close to the bus station which takes you to Koh Chang and Koh Samet. We stayed in a double room with our own shower room. It was good for what we needed.
