Given the reviews we had read on tripadvisor prior to booking the room, this was a major letdown. it seems like the hotel is too content to rest on their current high rating on tripadvisor and has started to slack.

1. The lobby stinks. Literally. Most of the time the lobby had the stink of wet clothes. We would rush from the entrance to the elevators.

2. Unspectacular breakfast: The breakfast had some variety but was absolutely unspectacular. When you are staying there for 4 days, you tend to get bored of the breakfast after 2 days, and there is absolutely no variety.

3. They re-use their bathroom slippers. We found this out the hard way as we had the bell boy come running after asking us if we'd taken the slippers with. Considering they are usually use-and-throw at hotels, we had packed them up, and so were surprised when this guy ran after us to ask for it.

4. They had mentioned 10% off food for American Express. But then when we were settling the bill they said that the item we had consumed "was bought from outside so the discount was not available". Seemed like a shady trick. Left a bad taste just when we were about to leave.

5. And this item which they had apprently ordered from outside was a birthday cake. Now, more than a couple of times in the past we've traveled on birthdays and hotels are usually happy to give a complementary cake. While we didn't really expect that, we expected them to tell us the cost of the cake when we called to order it. And it turned out to be really overpriced.

So while the rooms are good, some of the little details in the service quality are missing and they make you not want to go back and stay there in your next visit to Bangkok. It seems like one of those hotels that goes out of its way to cut costs and to an extent that it is explicit to the customers.

Room Tip: We stayed in a standard studio room and it was pretty good. Great furniture, bathroom, etc. Problem...

This is a gem of hotels! Beds are fantastic and rooms very good. Staff are truly great and incredibly helpful, in particular Boy and Choo who will help you with internet connections to advice on where to go and then organise it all for you. Also the restaurant at the hotel next door, called Captains Table is very good. Wehad pizza, eat as much as you can. The selection was very goos and the quality fantastic. The owner and the chef are also very friendly. The only negative is there is not much to do nearby, you need to take the train or a taxi, but i think the hotel and staff are worth returning to and taking the trains. Really a great stay, thanks to all the staff.

Room Tip: The new wing is great

Stayed at the Legacy suites for 3 nights in the new tower, it has 2 blocks new and old.The room was spacious and had a kitchen area which consisted of a few plates, glasses, microwave and washing machine. The room also had a desk area if somebody is there on business and it was also modern, there was also a sofa bed\day bed by the window. The service was quite good when they could understand what I was saying but they all seemed to be very polite this included reception and door men. Breakfast variety was not great, to the point I did not go again for breakfast but I am one who can do without. It is a 5-7min from the nearest metro station which was Asok and this was also 2 stops from the Siam Paragon shopping center. There is also a Terminal 21 shopping mall which is a 1min walk from Asok station so all in all a 10min walk to Terminal 21 where they had a good food court. There are a few bars in the area of the hotel, 3 min walk but I ended up taking the mrt to 1 stop away to Nana where you have the lower soi numbers and it seems to be more of a party life down here. Legacy, I think was Soi 23. Mrt very, very easy to use and was very cheap. I would recommend this hotel for the location and convience to get from A to B. Lots of 7-11 shops nearby which came in handy!

Room Tip: Apparently the new tower has nicer rooms and it cost 400thb per night which is cheap.

Stayed here for a few days at end Nov. Room was fantastic, very well-kept and beautifully clean. Bed was enormous and very comfortable. I could not find any fault with my room. Breakfast was also quite good with a mix of Asian and Western offerings. What kept me coming back was the soup.

Staff was very friendly. The two bell boys were ever ready to help with smiles on their faces at all times. Reception staff was also very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was very fast and efficient. Special mention for reception staff Dada who always had a big smile and friendly word for me and helped with a lot with my questions.

Some notes and suggestions:
1. The men's washroom is very exposed. When I was at the urinal and someone entered the washroom, anyone in the lobby area or entering through the hotel main entrance could see me. It would be good if a simple tatami screen be placed at the entrance to both washrooms to give users some privacy.
2. There was a slightly unpleasant smell at the lift lobby area.
3. The road leading to the hotel from the main Sukhumvit road is very dark at night and could be unsafe. It would be helpful if something could be done about this; perhaps the hotel could work with the neighbouring Mermaid Hotel to solve this.

Firstly, the good part - the shower is hot and has excellent water pressure, and the bed is softer than most in Thailand (note: not soft, just softer - if you've travelled in Asia, you know what I mean). Secondly, the staff did try to fix the inconveniences, but it was just a bit annoying to be constantly dealing with minor issues.

1. We booked a non-smoking room for 5 days. The porter escorted us to our room and as soon as we walked in, we knew we could not stay - the room reeked of thick cigarette smoke. The porter seemed puzzled by our unhappiness with the room and said he'd send someone up with some air freshener, to which we replied we'd just get another room.

2. The new room didn't smell of smoke but also didn't have the advertised washer/dryer (one of the key features we'd picked the room for since we were only travelling for a couple of weeks and knew we'd need to do laundry). It turns out the room descriptive text on Hotels.com (provided by the hotel) was wrong so I accept the hotel was not to blame for a copy/paste error by the Hotels.com website staff. However, the hotel did approve the text being published at some stage, and also subsequently requested the text be changed when the error was discovered (since our booking confirmation showed the hotel room to have laundry facilities but a live check of Hotels.com whilst standing in the hotel lobby showed it had been amended in the previous 4 weeks). Unfortunately, when they approved the change back, they didn't contact those people who had already booked the room to advise of the change so we were understandably unhappy. The manager of the hotel did come to the party and agreed to our request to be moved to a room with a laundry, but could not do it for the first 3 days of our stay.

3. We were provided an incorrect wifi password and needed to obtain corrected details from the front desk.

4. The toilet in our second room was running when we walked into the room, and I thought the maid had accidentally left the room whilst it was still refilling, not realising it was temporarily stuck. It turned out to be broken, since when I tapped the lever, that was the last time it flushed, and all subsequent flushes had to be done manually by removing the cistern lid and manipulating the inner workings until hotel staff fixed it a couple of days later.

5. The maintenance team asked us to phone the front desk when we were ready for it to be fixed. I did so, but the English language abilities of the front desk staff member I spoke to were so poor she obviously didn't understand me telling her we were leaving the room so the toilet could be fixed, and she kept asking "early checkout?" which I thought I'd communicated "no" to, but at the end of the day, we came back to find our swipe cards deactivated and had to go back to the front desk to sort that out.

6. The room service crew replaced some of the items but not all, so we didn't get soap or toilet paper one day.

Let's be clear - none of these issues put our lives at risk and, as I've noted, the manager did accommodate the request to be upgraded to a higher quality room with laundry facilities, but cumulatively this series of events just added up to a number of annoyances that we didn't expect nor want. Given the large number of hotels in Bangkok, we would not stay here again.

This hotel is clean and very beautiful. There is tiny swimming pool on the first floor with medium size restaurant. The room is big with full utensil in the kitchen. Before you stay here you must be informed that main customer is japanese guests who's here on their business. They can't provide you enough car park and it looks very busy when you get picked up here as so many cars on very small car park. One more thing hotel is a bit away from town. When you return home, you have to go through heavy traffic.
