“Better alternatives in area. Room 511 not good !”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

It is not that the hotel is bad. It is clean, staff is friendly and the rooms are equipped as expected.

However If you are given room 511( and probably also those rooms next to that room) immediately ask for another!
Just below the mentioned rooms are the hotels laundry facilities, and from there came a really annoying lowfrequent noise.

we asked for another room, but staff assured us that the noise would stop at 8:00 p.m.
But in those three days we stayed there, the noise did not stop before 10:30-11:00 pm.

So it really wasn't such a great experience for us.
Furthermore I think you can get better value for money at other hotels in the area.

Just had another fine stay, had my father and girlfriend this trip so had two studio rooms booked.

You still get the small electric hob, the fridge freezer and various plates and glasses as you do with the bigger rooms. the room are a good size with plenty of sitting area.

The staff are friendly and the hotel is kept clean and tidy.

The resteraunt and outside area are always busy especially at night, as you get a lot of outside people coming to eat, so if you want to eat at night outside book a table.

The food is plentiful and covers both European to Thai.

Hope to be back soon.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our only complaint was that the bed was a little hard, but not as hard as many hotels in Asia.

FRONT DESK: was very friendly and helpful! Everyone's english was really good and it was easy to communicate. Security was good in front of the hotel. Check-in/out was very quick and easy.

ROOM: was on the smaller side, but still very comfortable. The room was very modern and clean. There was a full kitchenette available. The internet was VERY good and easy to access. Bathroom was modern and clean and had complimentary toiletries. There was also complimentary bottled water in the room.

LOCATION: Just off of the main road so it was quieter than being on the main street. Just a few minutes walk to the skytrain or there were lots of cabs and tuk tuks around.

POOL: was on the smaller side, but looked clean...we didn't visit Bangkok to sit by the pool so we didn't use it much

RESTAURANT: was amazing! Breakfast was included and offerred a good range of Thai and Western options. Dinner was also really good...we actually went back to the hotel at the end of our trip just to have dinner again. There were also Thai and Western options on the dinner menu.

Overall we really liked this hotel and would stay again!

Stayed here during a roundtrip trough south-east asia in November / December.

Location:
If you prefer not stay in the extremely touristy hostel-packed area around Khao San road, I would indeed suggest to stay in Sukhumvit. Here also you will find many tourists and expats, but things are a bit more laid back here. In general prices in Sukhumvit are higher than the rest of Bangkok, but still far from expensive for European standards.

Adelphi suites is well located on Sukhumvit Soi 8, a 3-min walk from Nana BTS station, from which you can go just about everywhere in Bangkok using a combination of Skytrain, Metro, and Chao Praya Express Boat. Taxies also are not expensive in Bangkok (just make sure they use the meter) and will find the hotel easily.

In the Soi where the hotel is located on (8) and the one on the oposite side of Sukhumvit rd. (11) there are several nice places to have dinner as well as quite a few bars. If you'd like to go for a good Curry, walk down Sukhumvit rd. to the east for about 400m, and you will find a really nice curry place located on the corner of a small food center with several eateries; definitely recommend.

Room:
We stayed in a one-bedroom appartment on the 14th floor. The appartments are quite well equipped (e.g. containing a kitchenette with refrigerator, a washer / dryer and ironing board). The bathroom also had a rain-shower as well as a separate bathtub. Overall, the apartment was nice to stay in, apart from the cleanliness and general condition of the furniture, which was well worn out. Allthough not to the degree it became appalling, it was obvious cleaning did not receive too much attention from the hotel staff (the room was not really clean when we arrived, and the situation did not improve much during our stay). This will definitely make me consider things wisely when deciding whether to stay in this hotel again or choose another one out of the numerous hotels located in Sukhumvit.

Facilities
The only facility we used was the outdoor pool, which is located on the 16th floor. The pool is of good quality, and is very nice for relaxing. Especially when night falls, it has a nice view of Sukhumvit.

Breakfast
A buffet breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant / bar (which at night always packed; also with non-residents). there is quite a large choice of western and Thai food available and some of the items are vary from day to day. Overall the breakfast is of good quality and did not become boring. Coffee is not that great (but that's something you better get used to in SE Asia)

Service
Apart from the cleaning issues mentioned above, the service we received was very good and all staff were attentive upon arrival, upon departure, in arranging taxies, or in answering enquiries about where to go.

All in all we did have a pleasant stay at the Adelphi Suites. Would definitely choose for this area of Bangkok, and if they improve their housekeeping, I would also gladly stay again at this hotel

Room Tip: rooms facing to the east have quite a nice view over Sukhumvit at night

We arrived at the Adelphi Suites on the 8th January. We booked a suite for 5 nights. Very impressive, two very large rooms, self contained kitchen, washing machine, large fridge, microwave, kettle etc. Bed was very confortable, wardrobe good size, robes. Two flat screan TV's. Bathroom was very clean, toiletries provided.
The bar and restaurant area were very easy to relax at in the evenings. You could reserve a table for dinner if you gave the bar staff enough notice and they would try their best to get you the table you wanted. We ate at the Monsoon every night.

Breakfast was ok, the egg station was very organised and we liked the fact that we had control of the toaster,so our toast was always perfect.
The pool is on the small size and there are not many sun loungers around but if you are just after getting wet to cool down then it's ok.

Close to Nana station. We found the Adelphi Suites perfect for us and are looking forward to returning in July.

Have stayed here before but this time had wife and kids with us. We stayed in Suite and kids in the Studio. Suite is great size and amenities, was surprised how big the Studio was. Wife and kids were very happy with the rooms which is a plus. Washing machine with dryer was handy for a family.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing is a bother to them. Very helpful with transport or anything you need.

Monsoons, the restaurant on ground floor has had a change of menu with a greater selection. After family ate there on first night we ate there every night as meals were excellant, very happy all round. Breakfast buffet is good also.

Location in Soi 8 about 100 metres from Nana BTS so it is perfect. The street has several other eating options but you don't need to go past Monsoons but suggest you book in advance as it will become popular.

As l travel regularly to Bangkok this will become my hotel of choice. Price is right and all the above make it a suitable choice for me.

There is a gym with just enough equipment for a good workout and pool which l did not go in but the kids did and said it was ok with a great view of the City.

Only small critisism and one that can be levelled at a lot of hotels is WI FI. We had a problem and it was fixed within minutes but ALL Hotels need to have the best up to date WI FI available in todays world.

They don't have a lot of rooms so l probably should not be recommending so highly incase l miss our (ha ha). You will be happy at Adelphi, rooms, food, location, friendliness.

Room Tip: Each floor is the same configuration. Just choose the room size to suit yourself
