location was great, staff very friendly rooms acceptable
if you are traveling for business, certainly a favorite
the chef is french and the food is great , in all the restaurants
a shame the swimming pool is so shallow and the views are a bit enclosed, but normal in sukhumvit i guess

Will break this down by what I consider to be important in a 5 star hotel experience. FYI, I live in Bangkok, so I usually go to hotels to decompress on my days off. This means I stay in the rooms because that's what I'm there for.

The Grand Millennium Sukhumvit does the following very well:

1. The bed is soft and very comfortable. The pillows are the proper degree of firmness with a nice, clean smell. The sheets aren't scratchy and are spotlessly clean. I had a fantastic night's sleep.

2. The room is well organized - small desk for work, nice chair for reading, the bathroom is spacious given the somewhat smallish size of the room, the minibar is stocked with a good mix of snacks, soft drinks, beer and liquor, and the are plenty of little nicknacks to make it feel complete.

3. The air conditioner gets very cold (if that's what you want), stays cold and is super quiet. Top notch, which isn't a given in Bangkok.

4. The shower pressure is insane, the water gets hot but is very adjustable, the rain setting in the shower doesn't trickle, and the shampoo and body gels are crisp.

5. The WIFI internet in the rooms is blazing fast. I was able to stream Netflix perfectly and download files instantly. This is a big plus. Usually, WIFI in hotels is congested and slow.

This is what the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit could do to reach the 5 star level:

1. The food was very average. I ordered room service three times and ate the breakfast buffet. Nothing really stood out. It was all presented well and delivered quickly, but there wasn't anything that could be considered "awesome" food - the bacon burger w/ french fries got close. This was not a deal breaker, but is one of the things that prevents this hotel from getting 5 stars. Plus it was all very expensive which I guess is par for the course.

2. The TV was very small, the picture quality was poor, it took a long time to turn on, and the peripherals panel didn't work. The range of channels was sufficient, but didn't blow you away. By the time I was checked out, the TV had all but quit working.

3. Check-in was very slow and not efficient.

4. Pool is small and not very inviting.

5. Staff is well trained, but not overwhelmingly so.

We deal with a travel agent who usually books us into very nice hotels in Southeast Asia. This wasn't one of them. The shower stall didn't drain properly, so the bathroom floor flooded. Maintenance man insisted it worked fine. We had to wet ourselves down, turn off the water, lather, then rinse off. Despite the hotel's request that we be eco-friendly and re-use towels, there was no place to hang them to dry -- or to hang robes, for that matter. The room's carpet was dirty-looking and stained. However, it appeared cleaner than the restaurant's carpeting, which was filthy. We had the dinner buffet only once, the food was so bad (wrong temperature, bland, overcooked or undercooked). The pool is a narrow lap pool next to a construction site. Rooms are smallish. Worst of all, in a lobby bathroom stall that contained a diaper changing table, there were suspicious brown globs on the wall and floor for the several days that we stayed at this hotel. No one ever scrubbed them off. Free wi-fi for only an hour and only if you ate at the hotel restaurant or coffee shop. The location is good, the staff is friendly and the building is impressive, but I would not stay there again.

I am a frequent business traveler and stay in many hotels worldwide. Re quality/price, the GM Sukhumvit is perfect. I am one of its repeat customers. very central in BKK and very close to Asoke sky train station, a few minutes walk (shorter with Tuk Tuk), it is very convenient when I need to go to my office in Silom. Service is great and efficient. Rooms are spacious (albeit the internet is a bit slow). I usually stay on the Executive Level and am impressed with the selection offered for breakfast and light dinner in the evening in the Executive Lounge. Everybody working in the Executive Lounge is extremely professional and helpful. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

It is a great addition to the long list of good hotels in Bangkok. One thing that pleased me was that they were serving Halal beef, mutton and chicken in most of their restaurants and the toilets also had showers and not just tissue papers.

I stayed in this hotel for a period of 2 weeks on business purpose. This hotel is good in all aspects except internet connection and breakfast. If faced a lot of problem regarding internet connection. Negatives:,
1. Internet connection within the room is below expectations.
2.There is not much in fruits section when compared to European hotels.
3. Only one Indian item per daym that too they will repeat same item for every 3 days (upma or poha or idle).
3. Non veg section is also not great.
4. Fruit Juice section is very good.

Positives:
1.Room Maintainence is very good
2.Instant response of staff for any issue
3. Internet will be fixed within 10 Mins
4. Laundry service is quick when compared to European hotels.

It is the fourth time that I am staying at the Grand Millennium Sukhumvit hotel. It is my preferred hotel since it is close to the office.
It is a good, clean, with very good service hotel.
A little expensive for Bangkok.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent. All are identical in size, view, service
