FuramaXclusive Sukhumvit

I do love Bangkok especially around Nana, Sukhumvit, Asok but I do tire of tragic Euro men with 16yr old Thais on their arms, (attempting to look cool) and the businesses that cater to them, so the Grande was a welcome rest stop.
At first, I was not happy with the walking distance to shopping but quickly appreciated the slower pace of Soi 2. It also gave me an excuse to have a coffee at the Elefin coffee house, half way down.
For me, staff make a hotel and the Grande has the best. Friendly, helpful but with enough discretion to leave you feeling relaxed and unflustered.
Room service was quick. The food was reasonable (breakfast was outstanding) and the rooms spotless. Same for the pool and sauna.
I would stay there again in a flash

I paid roughly $65 U.S. Dollars to stay at a very new, very nice, very modern, recently renovated, 4-star hotel. The location was excellent - close to the skytrain and in a crowded, very accessible area. The furnishings and design of the hotel were impeccable. This wasn't a crappy 4-star hotel, this was an excellent 4-star hotel.

It's a small building, 8 floors, very recently renovated, still under renovation in fact. The only drawback is that the hotel is so new, that's it's still under construction and renovation, but I didn't care or really notice too much.

For the quality of the hotel, the price was ridiculously low, and I am quite sure that once they finish renovating the hotel, the price will only go up.

I highly recommend this hotel...

This hotel is basically new in an older building. It is a little hard to find but very centrally located near the sky train which is an absolute must in Bangkok. In terms of Bangkok city it is close to the main entertainment areas and Silom for shopping. This hotel is 4 star but has 5 star furnishings. The beakfast is also excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. I have no complaints about this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

We booked this hotel for a few nights at the start and end of our holiday in Thailand in Nov 2007.

Cost for our room was 2500 Baht (about £37-£38 per night).

Pros
Standard Room - Large and well equiped and decorated.
Staff - Very happy and helpful staff
Breakfast and restaurant - good food and coffee, open and pleasant surroundings.
Price - very reasonable for the location.
Location - short 5min walk to Sky Train (Phloen Chit) and next to the hospital (if needed) - perhaps you have a problem similar to the name of the station! :-)
Lifts - always available and quick to arrive - A bit random but this really annoys me if it isn't true.

Cons
Shower - was poor at the end of the holiday although they were doing some building work during our stay which caused this.
Room service - reasonable time but food was average to poor (Instead of dialing 5 just get off your butt and go out - resaurants are excellent in Bangkok)

On balance I would recomend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed for about seven days. And within those seven days, i can't really think of anything that displeased me at all. I had booked a Standard room. When i arrived, they upgraded me to a Deluxe room with breakfast included with no extra charge. My room was very nice size and very comfortable - well decorated too. I ordered room service twice and an a clothes iron - the staff's delivery was prompt. The staff was also friendly and helpful in other ways. They were doing some renovations when i stayed there, so i'm not sure if the renovations are done. And it's about 7-8 minute walk to Phleon Chit BTS train station, so it's quite centrally located. I will stay there again!

A good refurbished hotel 10 minutes walk to Phlom Chit BTS station.

Breakfast is ok.. nothing to get excited about, but enough to get the day going.

Rooms are very modern and well apointed. Free internet in the rooms is a good touch.

I booked a deluxe room and was very happy with what i got based on what i paid.

This is a gem of a hotel... the service was excellent and the hotel is quite cute and a super value for the price. They were doing renovations which was a little annoying (i.e., noise, inconvenience and unsightliness) and the street outside leaves a little to be desired but the location can't be beat (5-10 min from Ploen Chit BTS) I would recommend the place highly (hopefully the renovations will be finished soon!)
