I stayed at the Courtyard for the first time in April towards the end of Songkran. I chose this hotel for the price and location. It was a good rate and this Courtyard is not the same as the Courtyards in the US. The US hotels are basic without the restaurant or bar or executive lounge. This Courtyard had all these amenitites.
First location, like others have said, it is located on a quiet street. It is about a 10 minute walk to both BTS Skytrain stations. If you go through the small alley, you end up on a street filled with restaurants and street stall vendors selling all types of Thai food. I wish I spoke Thai better to be able to order and eat on the sidewalk. They had a tuk tuk to take you to the train but I never used it. They had taxis readily available that I used on several occasions. They all used the meter except for the one going to the airport.
The room was nice. Mine had a pool view It uses a key card as all modern hotels do and the elevators require it to go to your floor for extra security. My room had a king size bed, desk and lounge chair. There was a safe in the room that could hold my 15 inch laptop. There were robes and slippers and the usual toiletries in the bathroom. The bathroom had a walk in shower. I much prefer these to bathtub type showers. There was a window in the bathroom that overlooked the bedroom. If you are with a partner who isn't, this can be fun. But there is a curtain you can use to prevent you from peeking at your shower partner :).
The water was hot and plentiful and the bed was very comfortable. The wifi worked well and there was wireless and a wired connection in the room. The air conditioning worked well. I was able to set it to 24 C with no issues. I don't like my room freezing. The TV was nice, but I wish there were more English channels. Again its a wish as I know I'm in a foreign country.
Luckily, I had access to the executive lounge. The staff was pleasant and the breakfast and evening snacks were enough to put something in your stomach. A decent selection of beers and liquors were available and there was a good view of the city.
I ordered room service a few times as I was too tired to leave the room. The food was good and arrived hot and relatively quickly. No compaints here.
Check in and out was a breeze. My reservation was in the system and my room was ready on arrrival.
It is a good hotel and would stay here again.
