Move from another hotel to this property as it was a gift from a friend (who is a Marriott Reward Member). Check in was smooth and was ushered into our room. Room is big and clean and is the conventional squarish room. The bathroom has a see-through glass wall but can be shuttered for privacy. Plenty of mirrors in the room from round to full length...great! Some comments:

Location:
Tucked in a square and for those who can walk, may say the location is strategic to Gaysorn, Central World, Big C, Amarin Plaza, Paragon, etc. It is also between to Chitlom BTS station and Rachamdari BTS station, depending which side you are going. However, I find it a bit far and maybe too far in after a long day shopping. There is a complimentary tuk tuk but it takes you only to the main road of Rachadamri Road (if you are going to shopping area on the right) - quite irrelevant as you still need to walk a fair bit. And it is only 1 way, so you need to think of the long walk when you return to the hotel. We paid for a tuk tuk to take us back to the hotel. But the tuk tuk does take you to the Rachadamri BTS station (up to the foot step).

Room:
Big and high king size bed. 5 pillows provided but the pillows are too soft. It kind of sink when you sleep on it for long. As a result my husband had a crick on his neck the next morning.
All accessories were provided as a good grade hotel should have i.e. safe, bathrobes, slippers, mini bar, coffee&tea making facilities, all bathroom amenities. Free wifi in room and the wifi is great, strong and never gets disconnected (not sure if all guests gets free wifi as it explicitly says only members will get free wifi)

Service:
Good all round. Staff were polite and the concierge was helpful. Provided a walking map which is great. Made suggestions on places to eat nearby. Try out Re-cafe )for breakfast) and Yang Seng Tang (chinese restaurant - for dinner). But there are plenty of options in Centralworld.
Another great thing: As it was my husband's birthday, the hotel gave him a complimentary choc cake. It was delicious and huge for 2 of us...what a sweet gesture...

To sum up, will definitely stay again if using rewards point but may consider other cheaper options which are logistically more convenient!

Room Tip: pick a non-smoking floor.

Stayed for 5 nights in June 2013. Took a cab at 8:50 am from the departures cab drop area level 4 suvarnabhumi airport with express visa on arrival THB 1200 at 8:00 am on CX flight from Delhi.
The cab took about 55 minutes in peak traffic with an early check at 11:30 am. While we waited for an early check being a gold member the hotel staff permitted us to freshen up at the top floor lounge and avail complementary fresh juice , tea/coffee/ chocolate / cookies / fresh fruits etc - an exceptional start to a great stay. This is why I love Marriott's - service par excellence. Another plus the guest relations manager is stationed near the concierge desk at the entrance and she does everything to make your check in even smoother. The check in after giving my name and passports for copying took under 5 minutes becoz we had another guest ahead of us. Having last stayed in the Renaissance Mumbai and more recently at Renaissance Hollywood this was even faster. The breakfast spread at the Momo cafe on ground floor was very good - however considering we spotted around 10 Indian there was limited choice from the Indian menu especially for vegetarians. The menu was more european and ASEAN based, but limited for South Asian veg. Another tip - I wanted my croissant toasted but the toaster wouldnt allow so the chef insisted on taking this to the huge furnace hot plate and he served a sauted croissant at my table. For the next 4 days he always spotted me and served me - super !!! Hot chocolate not on the menu was available in lieu of tea/coffee. The probiotic strawberry milk finished if you came in late for BF around 9:30 am. All in all a great spread. The room was spotless clean and the courtyard with its signature windows floor to ceiling was great. We were upgraded (gold member) without asking. The highlight was the location which allowed you to walk 7 min or take tuk tuk service to BTS Rachadamri train station. If you are on a budget with light luggage then the hotel will allow you & luggage on checkout to go to BTS station and then you can change at Siam, go to Phaya thai and change again for airport commuter costing you around 70 THB vs. THB 350 for a cab. Take a cab (except to MBK) if more than one person is travelling becoz the walk up the steps to BTS will be a bother after the heavy breakfast. Picked up a true simcard for tourists from airport (valid 3 months) which can be recharged at the nearby 7 -11 (a shortcut thru a back lane). There is a large villa supermarket near the Mayfair serviced apartments about a 10 min walk away, where you can get everything. The best money exchange rates are at Green Super rich thailand adjacent to the boat pier near Big C (about a 15 min walk or take a cab to Big C and back 150 THB). The hotel concierge desk has a weighing scale for those conscious about baggage weight for airlines and gum tape to take care any last minute stuff. Buy your 4 wheel bags from platinum mall or opposite at Pratunam - good stuff at THB 1800. Thai herbal tea for weight loss and leg balm are also good buys. We were delighted that we got a personal greeting from the hotel ops manager and as gold members he welcomed us for our stay. The late checkout at 1:30 pm was very fast. Unlike most CY Marriott's in India we were not eligible to receive a 10% discount on food. We had a great time and the location location location and service service service is what will make us stay here again despite the hotel being at 80% plus occupancy as were informed. In case you have a lot of luggage then you need to hire a fixed price large cab van at THB 800 (non negotiable) to the airport.

Room Tip: Corner room high floor

The hotel located on a quiet street, near 2 train station(both MRT & BTS) which take us just about 7-10 min walk to reach the station. They also provide bulgy service, which they send us to the BTS Rachadamri train station with our luggage on that day we checkout.

The room is clean and the bed is good, not too soft. Just that I feels the pillow a bit too soft for me. They provide hair dryer in the room, very comfy bathrobes and bedroom slippers. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, they even approach us every morning we step out from the hotel, asking where we would like to go and give us all the info and advise we need.

If you bring along a laptop, they have a wifi connection in their room, which is convenient for business traveller. We did not have our breakfast in the hotel cafe so we do not know if they are good , but by walking through a small lane nearby we found out there are a lot of local street food in the morning, we had our breakfast there every day at deferent stall and we found a very cozy home style cafe in this small back lane, Ris Cafe is located in a house which run by a young Thai lady with 2 helpers. They serve very good food with reasonable price.

On the way you walk to the MRT Chit Lom station, you can find Thai massage every where
and some nice cafe, pub.

In fact this hotel is walking distance to a lot of shopping mall like Siam Center, Siam Paragon, MBK, Central World and a lot more, it's all within 20-30 min walk. We did that most of our days there, with the 'sky walk" that build attached to the train route and the bridge within the malls, it's really easy. You can choose to take the train if you feel lazy to walk.

We were staying for just a day in Bangkok towards the end of our trip just because of shopping and at the suggestion of a friend booked this hotel.
Its located inside a lane and is a gem of a hotel for those who wish to be close to all the central shopping malls of Bangkok but at the same time want a quite place to stay in which offers great service.
The room was decent..the decor elegant. We booked a corner room which was slightly bigger than the normal one but the washroom was average in size. I'm one who likes hotels offering designer toiletries instead of just the hotel name on the bottles so that disappointed me..
The bed was comfy and we had a good sleep. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast and the bakery items were quite lacking.
The service is the epitome of this hotel, it was top notch. Better than most 5 stars. Our flight was at 2 a.m. in the morning and without our even requesting they asked us themselves and extended our check out time till 4p.m. which was great. Even better was the fact that after the check out we had left our luggage there and till the time we left for airport we could use the gym, swimming pool or take a shower and change if we wanted. This for me was one of the best part of it.
Would recommend for anyone who wishes to be in the center of all Bangkok has to offer and still stay at a quality and quiet establishment.

Room Tip: a corner room is slightly bigger than the normal. about 4-5 sq.mtrs. so for those traveling alone or...

Heading to Bangkok for business, and on the spur of the moment, I buy a ticket for my son to travel with me...
Get to the hotel, no twins, so upgraded to a double - corner room with an extra bed added. Great start.
Ate in the hotel the first night - they bent over backwards to accommodate my sons mild peanut allergy - great again!
Quick walk to the Skytrain - choice of two stops one on each of the lines - so travel is so easy.
Massage for my son...good value and it sorted his jetlag.
Pool, ok, but you don't go to Bangkok to sit by the hotel pool!
Little TukTuk to take you to the Skytrain if you are too lazy to walk...
Rooms were very good, beds were nice and hard.
Roomkeeping excellent.
Breakfast ok - but everything was there.
Great maitre d' in Momo cafe.
But great value - about £40 to have an extra half a day/late check-out.
Nothing was too much trouble.
I'll stay here again on my next trip.

Many restaurants in the surrounding.Good and attentive staff.
