Owner description: Located in the centre of Bangkok, Siam Niramit is a state-of-the-art 2000-seat theatre, open every day, presenting one of the world's largest stage productions. In the grounds of the theatre are three restaurants, and an authentic traditional Thai village that visitors can stroll through and savour the atmosphere of Thai life in bygone times.

I watched the show 2 nights ago and good thing the weather is good because we were able to watch the pre-show at the courtyard. We were also able to roam around the compund which features the old Thailand villages.

The show is good for first timers in Bangkok as it showcases the thai regions. It has great effect and production show too. Great costumes too.

Book through hotels2thailand to have a good seat. Ours was just 2 rows higher than the gold seat. My companion booked through a travel agency along Khao san road and he got the seat on the side.

This is highy recommended!! Show is a story of Thailand's history. The surprise of the show is how they show it. A must when you visit Thailand for the first time.

A spectacular show that makes use of a giant stage, multiple backdrop changes, dozens of movable stage sets, an elephant, live goats and chickens, more than a hundred performers (some flying from one end of the stage to the other), a river that suddenly springs out of nowhere, actual rainfall effects... It's basically got everything, I don't think I've seen anything quite like it. There are three acts that introduces the audience to Thai history, religion and festivals, with a dash of comedy and audience participation.

Siam Niramit theater is easily accessible via the MRT (subway), just get off the Thailand Cultural Center station and take Exit 1. Siam Niramit's free shuttle service picks up theater goers right outside Exit 1, but try to get there before 7:30 PM, as that is the last time the shuttle picks up any passenger. The show starts promptly at 8 PM. One could also avail of the buffet dinner in the Theater's dining area before the show starts. Buffet starts around 5:30 PM.

This is a show not to be missed! You've got to see it to believe it. Well worth the price of show ticket.

Siam Niramit - Thai cultural dance centre is tucked away in the crowded corners of bangkok. The drive took us 45 minutes in the evening. We chose to have a meal at the international food court before the show. The show was great, the stage, the props, the actors were amazing. Must see.

We did the dinner buffet and the show for 1000 baht through a tour company.

The buffet was meh--pretty bland, but decent food.

I thought the show was going to be so cheesy--the decor is cheesy, and they have all the girls with the traditional outfits taking pics with you when you walk in. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the sophistication of the stagecraft. The costumes and special effects were great and very interesting.

I don't think the story was hard for foreigners to understand--there really wasn't a "story". It showed the four traditional regions of Thailand and each's dance and culture. Then they showed the heaven and hell as interpreted in traditional Thai Buddhism. It was about an hour and a half long.

The only caveat is that the hell scene is scary! I'm not sure I would want little children seeing it. Otherwise, highly recommended.
