A spectacular show that makes use of a giant stage, multiple backdrop changes, dozens of movable stage sets, an elephant, live goats and chickens, more than a hundred performers (some flying from one end of the stage to the other), a river that suddenly springs out of nowhere, actual rainfall effects... It's basically got everything, I don't think I've seen anything quite like it. There are three acts that introduces the audience to Thai history, religion and festivals, with a dash of comedy and audience participation.

Siam Niramit theater is easily accessible via the MRT (subway), just get off the Thailand Cultural Center station and take Exit 1. Siam Niramit's free shuttle service picks up theater goers right outside Exit 1, but try to get there before 7:30 PM, as that is the last time the shuttle picks up any passenger. The show starts promptly at 8 PM. One could also avail of the buffet dinner in the Theater's dining area before the show starts. Buffet starts around 5:30 PM.

This is a show not to be missed! You've got to see it to believe it. Well worth the price of show ticket.

Siam Niramit - Thai cultural dance centre is tucked away in the crowded corners of bangkok. The drive took us 45 minutes in the evening. We chose to have a meal at the international food court before the show. The show was great, the stage, the props, the actors were amazing. Must see.

We did the dinner buffet and the show for 1000 baht through a tour company.

The buffet was meh--pretty bland, but decent food.

I thought the show was going to be so cheesy--the decor is cheesy, and they have all the girls with the traditional outfits taking pics with you when you walk in. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the sophistication of the stagecraft. The costumes and special effects were great and very interesting.

I don't think the story was hard for foreigners to understand--there really wasn't a "story". It showed the four traditional regions of Thailand and each's dance and culture. Then they showed the heaven and hell as interpreted in traditional Thai Buddhism. It was about an hour and a half long.

The only caveat is that the hell scene is scary! I'm not sure I would want little children seeing it. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Having seen the extensive advertising for this attraction on my previous trips to Thailand I decided to go. Although the but was very late picking me up it was a very enjoyable night. The buffet dinner had a very wide range of choices including some Thai dishes cooked while you wait but don't expect a fancy dining area. The show was a walk through history and was presented in a way that meant that everyone could follow the story. Colourful costumes, great scenery, animals, pyrotechnics and music. I enoyed it from start to finish. There was also some audience participation and some humour. Although on a smaller scale than Fantasea it is still very worth while. There were people from all ages and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Definately worth going to .

If you like to see something else than the temple and shopping, you should watch Siam Niramit. It's nice entertainment about the culture of Thai people. We amazed how they do the works :)
