“Great hostel - cheap and cheerful!”

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and had a brilliant stay. Perfect distance from Khao San road, it's situated in a nice quiet area. Nice clean rooms were great.
Bad points to note:
Mattress was on the floor, not that comfortable.
No window in the room so felt a bit stuffy at times.
Breakfast was slightly boring

But overall it was lovely and you definitely get what you pay for :)

Our stay at Baan Nampetch was lovely! There's free wifi and an included breakfast of cereal, toast, coffee and tea. The woman in charge (I forgot her name but she's younf and really pretty) speaks excellent English and was super sweet and accommodating. She helped us plan a few of our sight seeing days and connected us with other people staying here. We were supposed to only stay one night but ended up extending our reservation to four nights total. Our room was an AC room (AC works REALLY well unlike many hostels) and the wifi was fast. They also provided a drying wrack for clothes and a rolling bar to hang things on like a closet. There's a really pretty terrace overlooking the canal where breakfast is served but no other communal space (which we were fine with). The bathrooms are three individual rooms on each floor with a shower, toilet, and sink but only one of them has a water heater. This never really proved to be a problem for us because it was slower during our stay but might be a problem if you're here when it's super busy. That, and the fact that our room was windowless were really the only (very minor) cons. The location is a bit difficult to find for the first time as it's in a very residential area but it's very close to (walking distance) Khao San road and Phra Athit which is where most things we went to either were or were accessible from. If you're veg (I'm vegan) there are four or five really great veg restaurants located really close by (Mango, Ethos, and May Kae Dee, Hemlock, and Bean & Us). A note to future guests: we chose this hostel because it was quiet and private. It's not a party hostel and isn't SUPER social either, though we did meet people and like I said the woman who runs it worked to ensure we connected with some other people for shares rides to sights and stuff but be prepared to be respectful and that respect will be returned to you.

First time in Bangkok and I can really recommend this place. It's clean, aircon, breakfast included, 10 min walk to khao san road, staff is helpful and provides you with great tips...eat amd drink at rolling bar it's nearby!
Print a map for yourself because taxi drivers seem to have difficulty finding the place.

Stayed a week at the hostel, just simply amazing for the price!!!! Great friendly staff, light breakfast (can't get it anywhere else for the price)!!! The place is so clean and organized and the terrace is a great place to chill out .... It's not a place to party but just a short walk to khaosan, will definitely come back next time!!!!!!

Baan Nampetch was a pleasure to stay in. Clean, simple, with very helpful staff, it was the definition of a community hostel. The communal balcony was lovely, and we met friendly travelers their. It's definitely a quiet place, but this was ideal for us after a day slogging through the chaos of Bangkok. It's a real diamond for a great price, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Good hostel, clean all round and there is a nice terrace where you have breakfast. This is the main social area and a nice place to relax.
Close enough to koh san road but in a quiet neighbourhood so if you don't want to be kept up all night then it's perfect.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and the hostel is very secure which is great.

Hotel is close to the backpacker area but far enough away (about 10 mins walk) to be able to escape chaotic khao san rd. Rooms are small but clean (as the shared facilities). Nice terrace to have a cigarette or breakfast (complimentary breakfast is pretty basic tho). Nice stuff and good value. Recommendable.
