Comfortable and quiet

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 30, 2013
I spend two nights in this hotel. It's located in the old Bangkok, where there are many shrines and temples. The district is quiet. The breakfast is ok (not great but good enough).
There are the golden mount next, chinatown and a park to jog.

The Boonsiri Place can help to organize a tour and touristic activities.

The hotel is quiet, clean, and the staff friendly. The breakfast is very good. The best part, though, is that the neighborhood is very interesting. It's tucked away on what looks like a busy secondary street corner, but its really a relatively quiet working neighborhood that's within easy walking distance of the Grand Palace and Khao San Road. Not sure I'd want to be walking around there late at night though. Lots of good local street food close by, and a 7-11 on the corner.

The hotel was basically clean, welcoming and had very spacious rooms. Yes, it is walking distance to the Grand Palace, Khao San Road among other but didn't really like the neighborhood plus our taxi driver had a hard time locating it.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly if a little absent.

However, I could not get any sleep here. No insulation in the walls and ceilings. You can here what people are doing in all the other rooms.

There is a school next door which starts at 7am and the wall partitioing the school and hotel is made of mesh.

This place bills itself as green friendly but has no double glazing which is especially irritating as the road outside is occupied by dozens of stalls and stray dogs.

I would never come near this place again.

My boyfriend and i stayed at Boonsiri for 2 nights when we first arrived in Bangkok. The location, as others have mentioned, is a bit difficult to find and would suggest having their phone number for the taxi driver to call them. We arrived late at night and the area it is in is does not seem very safe with drunks and prostitutes lining the street.

The room itself was clean and decent for the price. However the staff there could learn to smile and provide some decent hospitality. Every time we went up to the front desk to ask a question they glared at us as if we were rudely interrupting whatever they were doing on their computers. Most of the staff seem to understand english however they were not helpful at all. Additionally a pair of pants were stolen from inside my suitcase perhaps by one of the cleaning staff.

Also Do NOT use the travel agency recommended by them, they will rip you off.

The upsides are that they provide 4 reasonably working computers in the lobby, there is a 7-11 next door, and it is not far to walk to the grand palace, khaosan, and other sites in the area.

If i ever return to Bangkok i will not be staying here. However the proximity to sites and the clean rooms could be worth a short short stay.

I stayed in Boonsiri for 5 nights, before our flight back home, It's a good location it's near Wat Pho, Grand Palace and Wat Arun, 10 min walk to the hussle road of Khaosan, the room are clean and confy, the breakfast is good, the staff of the restaurant and floor are very nice, apart of a specific Guy in the Frontdesk, he always annoyed, never smile nor greet, he don't even looked at your eyes, I worked as a receptionist, and I think the Frontdesk should be the most important part of the Hotel, a smile or a greet is not that hard to do, in a country they call The country of Smile.. :D
