“Cold but cheap!”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

To be fair to this hotel, we arrived on the eve of the King's Birthday celebrations so the streets were heaving with people from out of town. However, we arrived after a long journey from the south to be greeted by two miserable reception staff, unsmiling, very unfriendly and despite me being heavily laden with backpacks they asked me for the passports three times in about a minute! This was a tad irritating as they could see I was getting them out!
We were given a second floor, noisy room across from the stalls outside so we couldn't open the curtains day or night as people were looking straight in. There were no nets or anything so if you opened them then there was no privacy at all.
The room was nice and clean and the bathroom was nice but the hotel is clearly a budget place which is only really a base and not somewhere you could get your feet under the table.
We read on reception that with half an hour notice the staff could get you a meter taxi to the airport but when we asked they said that they could not do this, despite the sign, so they called one for us costing 400baht to our airport hotel. A bit pricey?!
This hotel is OK for a cheap place to stay in Bangkok, for one night, but definitely not cheerful. Having stayed in the Lamphu Tree House Hotel a fortnight previously, we had probably been a bit spoilt but I suppose this is reflected in the price.
In a dodgy area with noisy rooms, if it is Khao San Road you want to be near to, you are better off booking one down there instead.

Room Tip: One at the back of the hotel, not on the road at the front.

Good clean hotel, nice staff and good if limited breakfast.

Close by to Grand palace and attractions. Khao San road only a 5 min walk away too.

Easy to get to from airport take sky train to end of blue line 45 baht and then get a tuk tuk 80 bhat to hotel. Taxi drivers and tuk tuk drivers don't know where it is so can be a bit hit and miss finding it.

I asked tourist information to write down street name and area in Thai. This helps out the tuk tuk drivers.

I have been staying at Boonsiri on numerous occasions over the past few years. It is a pleasant place with a convenient location. The area really has "couleur locale" and is close to Khao San Road, Grand Palace/Wat Phra Keow and the Chao Phraya River. Very few tourists around which is quite nice.
The staff is always very friendly and it really feels like home to me.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are a bit more quiet but a lot smaller. The street is not too busy so rooms at the...

Near at Imerial Palace and Esmerald Buddha and in 200mt you are into the night life of Kao Road and Night Bazar.
Is not so far to go the imbarcadero to pick up with boat service of the river.

Good price and clean room with the workers very kindly.

I stayed for 1 week. The hotel is on one of the worst blocks in the area; just by crossing the street and going east, west or south you are in far better territory. At night, the steps of the 7-Eleven become a hangout for guys drinking beer. While none of this felt "dangerous" it was terribly depressing. I read in earlier reviews there was a security guard at the entrance; looks like they've let him go. The breakfast buffet consists of fruit, toast, jams, and one noodle and veg dish ( on 2 mornings it was inedible, and certainly not "authentic" Thai by any stretch of the imagination), "mystery meat" sausage (but this is typical in SE Asia), and fairly good eggs offered 4 different ways. The rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff nice, but two days in a row forgot to clean my room. It really felt like the Boonsiri had just given up, which is unfortunate for them, but anyone considering this hotel should weigh up all of the reviews.

Recently stayed at Boonisiri in July for 4 nights. The hotel itself is of average price range for the amenities offered-free internet (slow), free breakfast, and fairly clean rooms. Our taxi driver had difficulty getting there when we first arrived at night from the airport, and my bf and I were a little shocked/worried by the number of street hookers in our area. Boonsiri is located almost in a little nook off the bigger streets (a short walk after you find yourself more familiar with the area). Contrary to the previous reviews, we did not find Boonsiri staff very helpful but we agree that they are very very friendly. On the nights that we stayed, we had staff who were very limited with their English. As a result, getting "local" advice on street eats, best way to travel to...etc., wasn't quite clear as compared to other hotels we've stayed at during our travel. Night time sleeps were noisy for us as well. It felt that street stalls did not close well into the wee hours of the morning, then you have dogs barking, and stalls set up around 5am all over again. All in all, it was an average place... couldn't complain too much for the price that we paid for :).

A basic but clean hotel centrally located. It is not cheap but not expensive as it is close to Wat Phra Keaw, Wat Po, Wat Arun and the "infamous" Backpacker street Khao San Road, free WIFI and Breakfast included. (we booked deluxe rooms) Nothing for families with children as the area seems to be known for street hookers attending to Thai customers (much to my surprise upon arrival at 3 PM being approached by some working women)
The hotel staff is friendly but reserved. Breakfast is included but very limited (toast, jam, coffee, tea, water and Juice. you can get some fried eggs on request, but that is about it, no ham and cheese omelet..)
Although we asked about parking at the hotel and having been told that is was available, the parking was in the street and we had the move the car to the other side of the street every day as the street side parking is daily changing,
There is a Seven Eleven on the corner next to the hotel and thai soup stall also.
