This new Cicchetti is in Central world Bangkok & is fantastic the place is spotless with marble top tables plush seating & mdern decore. The staff are well trained, the food great. I started with a Lobster Soup to die for, a Spag Bol made in heaven & a Citrus Tart mum would have been proud of..
Please note this is a new restaurant in the Grove Central world & bears no resemblance to reviews by previous reviewers

We should have known better. Every restaurant except this one was crowded with people. The staff of this restaurant speaks very little english. It's very difficult to communicate with them. We ordered a Long Island Ice Tea cocktail but think they forgot to put alcohol in it. As main dish we took steak but what a small portion. I think it was about 50gr of meat. For fries you had to pay 120THB extra per person.

At this stage tis restaurant is pretty quiet compared with its noisy and full neighbours. But this is not a good indicator of the food, it is good, simple italian food. Some good entertainment nearby too. Not expensive either, so overall a good night.

Cicchetti is part of the Groove Complex, which is located on the 1st Floor of Central World. In terms of location, it's fantastic and easy to get to. The outdoor (yet indoor with its covered roof) reminds me of K-Village style in Phrom Phong area. Getting there is easy; just take a BTS to either Siam or Chitlom station; Central World is located half-way between those two places.

When we went, there weren't that many people; which is usually a sign of the food quality and/or service. Other venues around were filled with people. But, had an Italian craving so just had to try it out.

Overall, the food is satisfactory. We ordered carbonara (excellent!!!), pizza (it's okay; bread's a little too thick for its type), bolognese (average), burrata with parma ham (standard fare), pizza bread (surprisingly good). The complimentary bread was underwhelming, to say the least. For my partner and I, it was the standard run of the mill type place. Nothing bad...but nothing great by any standards. Your standard food quality that you would expect.

Service, however, definitely needed improvement. We didn't get our water, which I know we clearly ordered. Our drinks came finally after entrees were served (i.e. appetizers arrived and no drinks still). Plus, they got the bolognese wrong. The staff seemed unsure of themselves, how to speak, how to serve, etc. They were friendly but just didn't seem well trained. Which I blame on the Italian manager who seemed to be strutting around doing not much.

In terms of ambiance, nicely lit and decorated and no complaints there. It's a place for casual Italian and maybe an inexpensive date.

Food pricing, for it's type of place, was all over the place. Some standard items were priced more than most 5-star restaurants in Bangkok. Other items were standard pricing. So, just make sure you check the price before ordering because some items can be expensive and others reasonable.

In the end, this place is your typical Italian restaurant. A good place for quick eats but not to impress your date or clients.

Not sure if there are more than 1 branch of this restaurant - this is the one at Central World.

Very surprised how quiet this restaurant was as we thoroughly enjoyed it. The concept here is that the dishes are small, and you then share a few between you. We had a few different pizzas and also a vegetarian dish. We also tried their cheese board, which was very nice indeed. The meal came with a free selection of breads, which as another reviewer has said - were delicious and perfectly flavoured. We has a bottle of Italian red wine, which they chilled down for us on request.
We had no problems with service, and even found them slightly over attentive at times - which can be the Thai way.

Prices varied on dish, but a small pizza was about 180bht++, and the wine was only about 850bht++

Thoroughly recommend giving this a try if you like Italian food.
