This is my first time to Thailand and i chose to travel there because i think the place were nice and the people are great enough.I was travelled with my siblings at that time. But what I've gone through make me feel that i wont come back to Bangkok again. When first i checked in, the staff at the counter didnt pleased me well. First, no smile at all. second, simply ask extra money without explaining why. I asked them what is that for, then, they start shouting and get mad. They are very rude until they bang my passport on the front desk floor. I was quite shocked on how they pleasant their guess. even tough that i know that im not paying for 5 star hotel, but i think i deserve a courtesy from them. It was 2 receptionist (male&female). the male staff can talk English rather than the female staff who cant speak a word. the room was too small, and it was really noisy even at midnight where a construction were done next to us.Seriously, im not suggesting this hotel to you guys..

The rate is low, the rooms clean and the location is good. Otherwise there is better value for money in the hotels/hostels around this place. The worst thing about this hotel is the beds. They are worn to the point that it hurts to sleep on them. We stayed at this hotel in 2012 and looked at about 6 rooms, all had really crappy beds with springs sticking out and had serious sags in the mattresses. Finally we found a room with a bed that was ok. In july 2013 we went back to the hotel and again we had to look at different rooms to find a room with an ok bed. We didn't find it this time and checked out after one night. (We walked to the hotel next door, Sabai Baan, and there the rooms and beds are good and the rate is even cheaper.) If you book online for the Smile Inn you will get a cheap rate but if you inquire in the reception the standard room rate for a double is 700 thai Bath. And last but not least I think that some off the staff in the reception at this hotel have seen too many tourists in their career as a receptionist because they were not very friendly at all (they hardly looked at you).

Room Tip: Baan Sabai 10 metres from this place

we had booked the superior rooms for our 4 night stay but rooms are very very small and we had requested for twin bed but we got double bed room only.

Breakfast was not buffet type it was pre-selective(Limited type) type.

Only the positive thing is its location- near khaosan road.

room was clean but no make-up in 4days- accutually we have to request for clean other wise they did not clean ur room.

This was my second stay at this hotel and i will stay again. For such a low price i cant complain about the size of my room or bathroom. The rooms where clean both times. The day staff are friendly and the night staff must be tired as they all want to bite. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay only. Both times, everything as been ok. My bed was clean. I took a shower and check-in and out was fast. Perfect!!

Room Tip: High floor. Because no one above will make a noise.

Room 203. The room is barely bigger than the double bed. The laughable "en-suite" has a toilet and a shower but the room is not big enough to sit normally on the toilet, so one has to perch precariously sideways whilst on the loo. Also entering the bathroom is challenging as there is not enough room to open the door and step inside: exiting is even harder. In the wall cavity across the top of the bathroom reside rats who like to squeak into the early hours and the ceiling/wall in the bathroom is stained with rat urine & faeces. A plus however is that the shower is hot, that is of course if you can manage to shower in the shoebox that is the ensuite. Next onto the bed: by far the most lumpy and awful mattress that ever exists with a scratchy, dirty brown blanket on top. Thirdly the walls are just thin stud walls and there are gaps at the sides between each room, so if the couple(s) in the neghbouring walls even whisper, everything is audible. For 400BHT a night (and we were told 500BHT in the high season!!) the room was disgusting, dirty, uncomfortable & miniscule. Also the hotel at large (with the exception of the reception area that fronts the hotel) is generally dirty and very shabby. The staff are also quite mercenary with very little in the way of customer service, plus every little extra, such as using the computers in the lobby and luggage storage has a price attached. If the room was dirt cheap I could slightly understand the quality of the accomodation but how they have the audacity to charge between 400-500BHT a night I simply cannot understand, and also I am told this hotel is a Thai chain!? Hopefully their other hotels are better. There are so many other hotels / guest houses / hostels in the area that there is no need to stay here.

Room Tip: Only stay here if there is nothing else available. If needs must, make sure the room has a window.

Just came back from Bangkok... I do advanced internet booking for 2 rooms 3 nights,(6-9 May 2013) ... look on the internet pictures of the hotel rooms, looks clean and nice environment in accordance with the price offered. once i arrived at the hotel, one room not yet ready. given 1room at higher floor with no elevator service, my mom which have knee problem have to climb the stairs... when we asked for lowest room, they said all rooms is occupied. once we reach at our room, the room was not in proper ready due the bed is not clean, smelly... So we decided to look for other hotel to stay. definitely we will not recommend to our friends and will not return to the hotel.
