I found the people working here to be quite nice, Mr. Mee who acts as sort of a taxi driver/travel director is a great guy, the daily breakfast buffet is great... the food is fine, it's only about $5 American. The dining room is sort of semi-open, and quite enjoyable, to watch the passing parade. Rooms are spacious (plus a safe for valuables, mini bar, free water, cable TV). I found the hotel wifi to work fine. It is not a 5 star place, but quite reasonable. It is not really "in the red light district", while certainly up and down the street are several massage parlors, and the Nana plaza, which is really kind of a small area, is indeed down the street. And certainly several bars facing the street. The prostitutes are there if you want them, but there are also the usual ubiquitous 7-11's, pharmacies, even a reasonable laundry across the street, street food vendors, and gift shops. The street is relatively quiet, just off the busy Sukhumvit. A very nice Indian restaurant across the street (indeed Indians seem to manage the hotel). And it is about 4 blocks from the Nana SkyTrain station. I took it several spots in Bangkok, including the BKK airport. Cheap and speedy, but it can get crowded. I had a pleasant stay there.

Room tip: I stayed on the 2nd floor, fairly close to the elevator. It was quiet.

Stayed here again and is in a busy spot but far enough on Soi 4 to be quiet at night(early morning)
Had a massive room and if you want some peace stroll around Benjakitti Park near Terminal 21.
Had problems with the WiFi signal on the 4th floor. Breakfast was buffet style with choices to reflect the many nationalities staying there. Eggs are cooked to your choice e.g. Scrambled, fried, omelette etc.
Decor a little tired but I was out and about lots so the great price was more impotant. Has a bar and massage ladies In reception. Nice little Thai restaurant about 3 doors to the left passed a massage place, Chaos 9 a new ladyboy establishment with 4 floors.
