“Not a Bad Choice”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

The Rambuttri Village Hotel is huge, but it's set back off the street with the plaza up front so very little street noise makes it back there. I walked in around noon and got a room with no booking. My single room was simple and clean and only 600 baht ($20 CAN/US). I felt comfortable there as a solo female traveller.

Highlights
-The room was clean and well kept.
- For me, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, and with the A/C on I couldn't hear anything outside my room.
- The bed was comfortable.
- The A/C worked well.
- There's a small bedside safe.
- The pool was nice but really crowded the day I checked it. (I only found one pool.)
- There's a place to store bags downstairs next to reception @20 baht per day. You can store bags there for weeks if you like.
- The location is really nice, (I always stay in this area and behind the temple when visiting BKK).

Lowlights
- The reception staff is typical Bangkok staff, they aren't friendly, they don't smile, but to be honest - I don't really care. They have a huge job filling the rooms of this huge hotel.

I might stay here again, I might check around in the same area and try something different, but it's a nice option to have. You could do much worse.

Room Tip: Some rooms are walk up with no elevator, the trade off is that this side seems quieter.

I'm a 27 year old male that goes to Thailand frequently to let my hair down and party. I don't want to spend a fortune on accommodation and i want to be where the action is at. If this sounds like you then i would look no further than this place!

On Soi Rambuttri (A quieter Soi than Khao San but lots of nice restaurants and stalls but only 5 minute walk to party central) this hotel offers everything you need. Air con, TV with a few UK channels, fridge and isn't loud at night so ok to sleep. Can't understand people moaning about the staff.. on all of my visits they have been absolutely lovely.

2 swimming pools as well!

Seriously recommended

Being within walking distance of Bangkok's main tourist attractions and practically 10 seconds away from Khaosan Road, it's easy to understand why the greatest perk of this place is its location. Thanks to a lovely and well-positioned courtyard, the hotel is pretty quite as well, even if it's so close to the city's nightlife.
The rooms were clean and comfy, nothing particularly fancy, but, considering the price, we were all very happy with them.
The only downside of this place is the staff. It's not that they're rude, they're just incredibly slow: coming back to the hotel after a day of sightseeing it took me 20 minutes (I'm not exaggerating) to get back my room's key from the reception... my advice: just keep the keys with you (unless you're checking out, of course!).

We stayed here paying slightly more than we should believing we were in for some luxury as there's 2 rooftop pools etc, but in reality the rooms are average, small, no where to store anything. The worst thing is the walls may aswell be paper, we've heard someone be sick from over the hall, people coming in and out all night, phones ringing, cleaners and staff talking very loudly etc.
The Internet is free which is a bonus but u have to get a code each day from reception
If u want the pool stay here but stay higher than the second floor if your not bothered about the pool there's cheaper accom available at a similar standard

I've stayed at Rambuttri Village a couple of times (when nearby Lamphu House was full) and been pretty pleased. Both times I've been solo and taken a single room. A standard single is pleasant and comfortable and cost 600 baht in early October. The Superior single has a bigger bed for 50 baht more. Both were air-con. The staff and generally pleasant and efficient. Both had a desk where you could work on your computer. However, Wifi doesn't work in rooms far away from the desk, so if you're carrying a laptaop or notebook try to get a room near the desk and the router.

This hotel is huge it has 2 towers.old & new.both have a nice roof top area with big pools & areas to relax & watch the sunset before the staff kick you out at 6pm.. Bit strange
The hotel is a very good price considering the great location & the fairly good rooms.for $20 you can't get any better

Me and my friend booked this hotel on internet. When we got there, the staff was kinda strange, Not rude, not nice. Just really didn't care if u are there or not. There room was clean, had a tv and a good strong shower. We had a window, a desk and some hangers for our clothes. Aircon worked great. The location is perfect, a bit outside main khao san road, so much more quiet when its time to sleep.
Its cheaper to book and pay it trough internet then to pay it there apparently.
