I thought this was such a great alternative to the traditional hotel room. Larger in size and with kitchen and laundry facilities. Also a good swimming pool. On an average, for the same standard in a traditional hotel, this was less expensive. The hotel provided tuk tuk was great if you didn't want the full walk to Sukhumvit Rd. but the walk was interesting in its own right with street food available all along Soi 16. I ate breakfast on the street most mornings for about $2.00. The hotel staff were very obliging and nothing seemed to be a problem. The Seven Eleven, about 50 meters down the road sold very inexpensive food and beer and the 24 hour supermarket, about another 100 meters down the road had everything you could want in fresh food and fruit, as well as a good 'diner'/restaurant within. Good value as well.
All in all the Somerset Lake Point is good value for money and I'd be surprised if you are disappointed.

the first impression by this hotel was really nice, the staff were lovely and very helpful. We were impressed with the room it was big, spacious and had all the facilties such as the kitchen and bathroom. The hotel in general were very friendly, they had swimming pools and saunas etc which was great, we also booked a tour with the hotel, the only downside here was that the person at the desk couldnt even speak english, but there was someone who could but we had to come back later. The hotel offered a free shuttle to the bottom of the road and also picked you up which was very useful. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel it really was worth it!

Staying here in Somerset is pretty depressing, most of the staff are incompetent and the room I have in Tower A is in bad need of redecoration. The location is okay for foodland supermarket but little else close by. Tuk Tuk will take you near Asoke BTS but it is a hassle to get back.
I think when this was built it may have been okay but best to look for a more modern serviced apartment now in a better Soi.

Room Tip: Best tip for a good room would be to go elsewhere.

I had booked a 3 bedroom apartment and stay between 23-26 May 2013. Lobby is spacious and staffs are friendly. Check-in process was quick. We stayed at level 16 with a great view. There are 2 blocks of apartment. 1 outdoor swimming pool and 1 indoor swimming pool are available for swimming. Breakfast was normal and breakfast time is between 530-1030 daily. Free wifi is provided upon check-in. Hotel Tutu service is available for in-house guest. This tutu will send you to the main road where you can walk to the BTS. The only minus point is you have to walk back to the hotel after all your shopping as the tutu will not wait at the junction to pick you up. Massage is available opposite the hotel as well. Supermarket and food stalls are available near the hotel as well. Overall, a nice hotel to stay if you are traveling with your families or friends.

A nice hotel. Clean facilities - breakfast, wi-fi, gym, with everything including a tour guide in the hotel. I stayed in a room with a great view (level 18) with kitchen facilities. Be aware that this is a serviced apartment but never felt like it as the staff were all very friendly & accommodating.

It will be an ideal staycation for big groups. There is an awesome massage place directly opposite the hotel. The street stalls along the small leading to the main road has very delicious noodles, cha yen, etc. However, it will take approximate 10 to 15 mins to walk to Asoke BTS. Highly not very recommendable for tourists who visit Siam vicinity only.

I stayed in a 3bedroom apartment, the only disadvantage is that there's only 2 toilets in the apartment.

Location - About 10-15 minutes or 700m walk to the nearest BTS station (Asoke). You can ask for a free tuk tuk shuttle from the concierge, which will bring you to the junction of Exchange Tower. Exchange Tower is about 200m away from Asoke BTS station. At the Exchange Tower, you will see Starbucks, True Fitness and a connection bridge to Terminal 21 (shopping centre).
If you choose to walk, you will see these along the street: convenient shop (family mart), super market (de foodland), restaurant (Subway, Tensui, Kuppa, coffee alley in the garden, a Korean restaurant, a Dubai restaurant), Citadines 16, many massage outlets and hawker stalls.
FYI - may be difficult to walk when rain or with kids, as the road is quite narrow.

Room - Instead of studio standard @ Tower B, we were upgraded to studio premier @ Tower A, mainly due to the on-going refurbishment at Tower B. We booked three rooms - all with different layout. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-designed. Kitchen facilities are great and homely. As a reminder, bring your own toiletries! Hair/body shampoo will be provided but not others such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap & etc. Room ventilation is good in all rooms but not the shower heater.

Amenities - Lobby of tower A is comfy and yes, there's a musty smell upon entering the lobby of tower B! 30m pool is nice and peaceful (in the morning).

Breakfast - Limited choices, justifiable with the 220 baht/pax.
