We were at Shanghai Mansion hotel in Aug 2011 for 5 nights. It is at heart of Chinatown. I would say it is GREAT hotel ever. Great modern interier both in commond areas and guest rooms, Staff was welcome helpful. Mini bar stuff (in room) is free of charge, YES, FREE OF CHARGE which is included beers, pop, snack, chocolats and etc, what ever you can see in the fride, all is free and fullfill for you everyday. Hallway, there are desks games and also free snacks provided. Can't describe how great this hotel is. Thanks for such a supurb hotel.

WoW! This is one of the most pretty hotels I've ever seen it is located in China Town which is a funny place pretty loud but you can't here anything from inside the hotel.
The rooms are super pretty the shower was great Internet was free and fast! Breakfast was really good.
They had an Thai and european buffet as well as an assortement of freshly prepared items.
The Concierge are always happy to organize an taxi and you can be almost sure they will bring you to the right place.
If its not rush hour go by taxometer we discovered that on our last day and it was so much cheaper!
If you get in a taxi make sure to tell the driver to go to the place right away and that you don't wanna go to some random market first. I did it all the time and never had a problem
Don't believe in TuckTuck drivers when they tell you the attractions you wanna go to are closed they just wanna sell you some other stuff.
From the hotel you can also walk to the pier and take the boat to the temples. Its a cheap and funny alternative.
I'd alway go there again on a trip to Shanghai

This is a great hotel that provides a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. Nicely styled rooms with everything you need to enjoy your stay.
You are right in the middle of Chinatown which is hectic to say the least. The streets surrounding the hotel aren't for the faint hearted, so consider this before making a booking.

Location is right in the attractive area of Yawaraj Road (China Town) near The Golden Buddha Temple (walk 10 minutes) and China Gate ( typical Chinese design's gate you can see anywhere in the World representing Gate to China Town ), seafood or typical Chinese Food from a mere food stall to a decent chinese restaurant plus several souvenir shops, Gold Shops, are surrounded the Hotel. Hotel can be reached by MRT ( Hua Lumphong Station ) but
if you are matured, it might be difficult for you to walk because it will take you around 15-20 minuites to reach Hotel. Hotel itself is like two or three shop houses converted to hotel. What I like most is the interior decoration & concept. Outside, you hardly notice anything fancy but once you enter the building, its like you step into China date back Century ago. Room is big enough with full amenities with separate bathtub & shower room. Bed is comfy, lighting can be dimmed by ourselves. Hot chinese tea provided as well as bottles of water and minibar. all these are complimentary. The place is clean & secure . But what lacking here are service staffs, its seem to be shortlisted and not so attentive. Another comment is the breakfast menu; too simple, taste so - so. If they can improve these two things, I am sure that this place is worth staying & value for money.. Anyway, if I have a chace to visit Yawaraj again, I will stay here.

Room tip: room has no window but does not feel uncomforatable at all with all the decoration & furniture provided.

Just arrived at this lovely hotel,we were greeted at our car and luggage taken immediately by a very polite gentleman NOT the mafia! to the reception area where again we were greeted by reception staff,Pathi and Ying, who were very attentive, polite, friendly and helpful.
The hotel area did NOT smell like a sewer in fact quite the opposite our room was ready on arrival and moved in immediately which is very comfortable and exactly as described.
The concrete floor along with the SECURE wooden doors is a feature of this Boutique hotel and looks great there is no swimming pool but this is explained in their web page and this is exactly what we wanted something different to the PLASTIC chain hotels that were available to us.
The hotel area is covered with CCTV.
The hotel has a lovely cultured, clean, airy feel, friendly, huge fish pool and lots of relaxation areas dotted with antiques and even a spiral wrought iron staircase with complimentary snacks.
We would highly recommend you come and stay at this hotel without any worry !
So far so good we are now off to roam the streets of China town, will keep you updated.
