Been staying here for the last 6 years, stayed in many different places (and on different budgets) all over Thailand - this is the one place I always come back to without fail. Rooms aren't fancy, but are clean, pool and cafe are great. Staff are terrific, many of whom have been there for years.

The hotel is definitely dated, but you can't beat the price. The room was spotless, plenty of hot water, the A/C (which was definitely needed) worked like a charm. The swimming pool was a nice amenity and I could swim laps first thing in the morning. There is a small charge for wi-fi but that worked well. The crowd includes a number of very older western guys with their youngish Thai "friends" so if that puts you off, you might want to stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: We had the room at the end of the hall which was fine. There is a certain amount of street noise bu...

I have been staying at the Malaysia for 18 years and am made to feel like returning family at this point. The rooms are OK. They have what I need - comfortable bed (with nice new linens this past year), refrigerator, TV, good air-con, 24-hour coffee shop and room service. It's also nice to have a pool. The staff is as nice, helpful and friendly as any I've encountered anywhere.

Room Tip: I recommend the superior rooms.

Located in Silom area, within walking distance of Lumpini subway station (MRT), Lumpini Boxing Stadium, and Suanlum Night Bazaar.
The swimming pool and restaurant are basic.
The Thai Traditional Massage facilities are adequate and inexpensive.
Wireless Internet (Wi Fi) is available.
See their web site for room rates from 700 to 1500 baht.

THE MALAYSIA is an American style hotel in the Lumpini district of Bangkok. It has a deep pool, fine restaurant, massage centre and great staff. It was built in the 60s for GIs on r+r.Rooms are a little jaded as is the hotel, but at the pricesof $25 per night great value. It is not for homophobes as there is a definit gay r+r vibe now in the air.im hetro and have no problem with some of the wonderful characters i met by the pool and lobby. The reception, porter, and travel desk could not have been more helpful.the pool although outdoor was not sun friendly because of local buildings.this must be the best room value in bangkok,

Room Tip: if you want to catch the sun by the poool, get your towel placed early a\s there are few sunbeds cons...
