This hotel is far from the central attractions, but close to the shopping and more modern part of Bangkok. It is close to several metro stations and the huge Siam Paragon shopping centre (not to mention many other shopping malls nearby). It's a perfect area to spend money :)
A taxi ride to the centre took me approximately half an hour (there were no jams on the way). I heard there is an option to get to the centre by boat going along one of the nearby khlongs (canals), but I did not try it, so nothing to say.
It is an apartment type hotel. The rooms have all the necessary facilities for independent living, including a fully equipped kitchenette. It seems to be good for long business stays.
First I was offered a smoking room, which I did not quite like, and then I changed to a non-smoking floor, so there is always an option to your liking. Both rooms faced busy streets, but the windows were OK to shut out all the street noise. Everything in the rooms was clean (though not spotless), all the facilities were operational.
The breakfast was rich. As for other hotel services, I tried the swimming pool (which is a really good thing after a rush into the hot city).
So it is worth a try if you are in the mood for shopping or business, rather then sightseeing and excursions.More
