I stayed in Bally's for 10 nights from the beginning of September 2012. My overall impression was the place offers good value for money in a decent location.

The hotel is located at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 20, a 15 minute walk from either Asok or Phrom Pong BTS station and the hotel tuk-tuk will drive you a majority of the way between 8am and 5pm.

My room was large compared to hotels of similar prices in the area, with a small kitchen area (microwave, fridge, sink etc), a sofa and armchairs, a comfortable bed and large storage area. There was also a good sized balcanoy. The room was in the older wing: the furnishings and decor were pleasant although a little worn and dated. There was a basic gym and a terraced pool, features which were absent in similar priced locations I looked at.
The bathroom had a shower/bath with a warm powerful shower. The sink was cold water only.

There was some construction work going on during the day across the road but at night the noise would stop. My room at the front got some traffic noise but it wasnt excessive. I found the airconditioning a little noisy at night.

The front end staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was seamless and nothing was a problem for them. The door staff were great, always attentive and smiling. The cleaning staff did a good job. The room was cleaned thoroughly and beds were changed every 3 days.

I enjoyed my time at Bally;s and would visit the place again. Excellent value for money, friendly staff and reasonable location meant I had a good stay here.

We (a family of 3) stayed for 4 nights. The googlemap located wrong place when we were looking for the hotel and took us a while to get there. The staff were very hospitable but sometimes difficult for them to understand English and speak slowly and simple words sentences, then communicated fine. They provide a tuk-tuk service to the nearest BTS stations, but the hours they offer wasn't fitting in our schedule and we walked to Asok station or took a taxi to our destinations. The location of the hotel is close to anywhere and 3 of us using taxi sometimes cheaper than using BTS. The room was spacious and small kitchen was great. We bought our breakfast from a store and had nice lazy holiday mornings. Pool was OK nothing special. Gym was there and had basic weight machine and bikes etc. Our room was locating far from Wifi router and we ended up using cable. But the speed was fantastic! We didn't explore neighborhood much but next street was local appearance and could be fun. Just wished that the neighborhood street was on the street where the hotel was located so that as we walk to BTS stations, we could poke in and out as we stroll the street.

Outstanding value for money . Location is a major plus , close to major malls and stations.
Terminal 21 , McDonald's BTS asok all nearby . Rooms are very spacious got a nice view
Staff at lobby are incredibly friendly and helpful
Only set back is the WiFi , the signal are at minimum when in the room but they do provide LAN cable in the room though
Roof top swimming pool was icing on the cake .
Overall a fabulous experience , was worth every penny .

I recently stayed at this property. The staff was pleasant and very helpful, particularly the manager. I stayed in a deluxe suite room. The room was large, had a nice bathroom, flat screen TV, small balcony, sitting area, desk, fridge, microwave, small kitchen area with a stove, dishes, glassware, and cutlery. The closet space is adequate, and in the closet was a safe which could hold a 15" laptop. Access to the room is with a card-key. The room has a DVD player that will play regional discs (you can buy local DVDs cheaply throughout Bangkok, even at a nearby 7-11) Although the property is at the end of Soi 20, some distance from Sukhumvit, one can walk to Suk or take the hotel tuk-tuk shuttle. There are moto taxis nearly, and taxi-cabs pass by the hotel entrance fairly regularly. One can walk a short distance down the soi in front of the hotel and reach Soi 22, a busier soi, where a short walk in the direction of Sukhumvit will lead one to restaurants, bars, foot massage shops, etc. There's a 7-11 on the corner of Soi 22 and the small soi that passes in front of the hotel. The Bally's buffet was nothing to rave about, but was included in my room price and was nutritious. There's a nice pool and a small weight room on the roof. I'm returning to Bangkok next month and have already booked my stay at Ballys Studio Suites Sukhumvit.

Room tip: Get the deluxe suite and ask for a room with a view on the north side

Located at the end of the soi, you would think that it is quiet. On the contrary, when I was there, there are construction going on and you can hear the din even from the room.

Rooms are not sound proof, you can actually hear the other doors closing and your wall vibrating if a door slams. You can also hear every footstep and conversation if you are unlucky enough to get a room near the lift.

However, for the price you are paying, you can't /shouldn't complain much.
