We travel to bangkok often and each time have tried to stay somewhere different. We took sometime reading reveiws and decided on this hotel due to the different location and rooms.

The hotel did not dissapoint in fact we were so impressed when we saw our room. The lotus room was beautifully decorated with wonderful personal touches. The outdoor bathtub was amazing and the room istelf was very peaceful.

But it is the owner of this hotel and her staff that adds to the charm of the old bangkok Inn. Nantiya takes extreme pride in her hotel and you notice it throughout your stay. Each day we had a hand written note from her asking if there is anything she and her staff can do for you. She greeted us daily at breakfast offering some helpful tips and chatting in general.

The breakfast was a fantastic array of tropical fruits and teas and pastries followed by anything you wanted hot.

Our stay was wonderful and we were even given a room to shower in before we went to the airport as our flight was very late.

We will definately be back to this hotel and cant wait to try the Treehouse which opens in December.

Room Tip: The lotus room is the biggest and has a wonderful outside bathtub its also on the ground floor which...

If you want to stay close to historic landmark of Bangkok (Ratanakosin Island), this is the place you should consider. From this boutique B&B, you can easily walk to the Golden Mount, top view of inner Bangkok. You can even walk along many attractions to the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha in less than 2 km. or take a short ride on Tuk Tuk if the weather is too hot. This little cozy hotel is full of character. We stayed at the Lotus suite. The room is huge but quite dark. The computer/laptop is provided in every room with free wifi. Not enough? You can have a cellphone to use during your stay. How nice! Don’t forget to taste a variety of tropical fruits in your breakfast before starting to explore a charming Bangkok. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Room Tip: If not Lotus, try Jasmine.

I recently spent several days in Bangkok with my daughter at the Old Bangkok Inn. We were treated royally and felt very much at home. Free breakfasts included massive platters of tropical fruits, eggs, unlimited toast, excellent Thai coffee and exquisite coconut pancakes. The loft room was on the small side but furnished with lovely dark wood antiques and the bed was very comfortable. This hotel prides itself on its green practises and is perfectly located for visiting several beautiful temples, the Democracy Monument, hopping on the canal boat or climbing the steps of the Golden Mount for views of the city. A computer and free internet were an added bonus. Should I have the good fortune to return to Bangkok, I'll most definitely make a return visit.

The owner and their staff makes all the difference in this very different hotel, it has small rooms with a very adequate bathroom, wood throughout and thus sort of dark, it is restful but there is little space for suitcases and no closets. The location is good, the management does everything to make your stay happy and every day you find little presents from the owner wishing you a pleasant stay. I would use it again, with less luggage.

Old Bangkok Inn is an excellent boutique hotel in the historic area of Bangkok. It has been completely refurbished, and the rooms are nicely appointed and very clean. The rooms are as represented on the hotel's web site. We had two rooms: one for my wife and me, and the other room for our college age son. Both rooms were in great condition. The owner and all of the staff are attentive and helpful. Breakfasts are a highlight. We really enjoyed the hotel.

Tip - the hotel is near the Palace and conveniently located, but is not easy to find unless you are familiar with the historic district of Bangkok. The hotel will arrange in advance for transportation from the airport to the hotel. We arrived in Bangkok at 2:00 AM and having transportation already arranged was a bonus. Unless you speak reasonably good Thai or are familiar with the historic district to direct your taxi driver, I recommend taking advantage of the hotel's offer for transportation.

We are happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us, getting to meet new wonderful guests and making sure they get the most of out of our beautiful city is what keep us excited about running the Old Bangkok Inn.

As you correctly implied, Taxi's in Bangkok are cheap but not very professional so therefore we encourage all our guests to carry around our map at all times. Even though our transfer service is a tad expensive (by Thai standards) it is highly recommended if you are coming in at later hours.

It was a pleasure to have met you and we hope you brought back good memories of Bangkok :)

We were absolutely delighted with the Old Bangkok Inn. It's full of character unlike many large Bangkok hotels, and the staff are really wonderful. Breakfast was fantastic - there was a huge platter of fresh local fruits, and we chose to try the Thai porridge which we loved. If you like to stay in small places with warm and friendly staff, then we recommend Old Bangkok Inn very highly. The location is also excellent.

Thank you so much for your stay with us.

We are glad you enjoyed our breakfast. One of the best things about Thailand is the exciting variety of fruits many of which are particular to this region, that is why we put so much emphasis on our breakfast fruit platter - which all our guests seem to love.

If there are any fruits you miss in particular please let us know, and we will try to help you find it back home in your local Thai/Asian grocery.

Thank you again.

Old Bangkok Inn is one of the reasons we went back to Thailand. We love the owner, the staff, and the inn's many charms. We'll probably talk about the plates of fruit at breakfast until we're little old ladies. The location isn't near to the Sky Train, but it is near some quaint streets and sites, and taxis are available. We recommend you buy the Nancy Chandler map they sell at the inn, and explore!

Thank you for your kind note, I'm always pleased when we can positively contribute to a guest's experience during their stay in Bangkok.

At the Old Bangkok Inn, we try to promote resources that we think can help our guests to have a more enjoyable stay in Bangkok. The Nancy Chandler Map is definitely a must for anyone visiting Bangkok (or Chiang Mai) especially if you'd like to explore the more rustic parts of the city such as Chinatown and Old Bangkok by foot. The map also tries its best to make sense of the hectic Chatuchak Weekend market.

One last note, although we are not walking distance to a skytrain station we are located opposite the road from a canal boat stop which heads right into Siam - Bangkok's shopping district. Although the canal is a little dirty and smelly, the canal boat is fast and really does provide an "authentic travel experience" :)

Thank you again for your kind note.
