“Lovely hotel, great shuttle boat service and smiling staff.”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

We stayed for two nights here a week a go, really enjoyed our stay. We had a little problem checking in which ended up with the reception staff giving us the room key for someone else's room! Luckily we're trustworthy people given that there was no one in the room but all their possessions on show! Anyway, we went all the way back down to reception and kept waiting until they sorted it out. We stayed on the 29th floor with stunning views, comfy bed, a bath and a shower and lots of room. Very pleased with quality of service (other than the room mix up) we were told we didn't get breakfast included, we needed to pay extra for that which was a little irritating but you're so near to everything it wasn't needed. Shuttle boat is fantastic and regular, definitely worth using. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Views from high floors are incredible, try and get a higher floor if possible.

Recently had four days here, our first time in Bangkok. Hotel in great position right on the river and hotel water taxi every few minutes made getting about so easy. Nothing is too much trouble for staff, always smiling and GENUINELY want to be of service. Particular mention must be made of ANEK, he always seemed to magically appear if we wanted anything and nothing was beyond him. Excellent buffet food at breakfast and the Chinese restaurant within the hotel was first class.
Could spend hours just watching the endless river traffic and the hotel offered just about any service you could want.
Busy hotel, lots of business events but the non business travellers are well catered for.

Room Tip: Higher floors to be able to watch the river

The Millennium Bangkok Hilton was the first stop on our Thailand Honeymoon and overall we really enjoyed our 3 night stay and would highly recommend it to others.

The location is fine as the hotels’ two free shuttle boats sail all day across the river – they’re fun to use and one drops you off right at the SkyTrain in about 10 minutes – the SkyTrain is easy to use and definitely the best way to get around Bangkok – taxis are cheap but the traffic is a nightmare. Next time we might consider staying on the other side of the river however.

This hotel is all about the views for us, they’re incredible and I believe every room has a river view. We got a 25th floor deluxe executive room and the views across Bangkok were so spectacular that I insisted on sleeping with the curtains open every night.

The room was decorated to a high standard and included a big and very comfortable bed, strong power shower and Jacuzzi bath. The bathroom area is closed off only by wooden shutters and light Thai doors so you can easily hear all noises coming from the bathroom! Fine if you know you’re partner well but for others this might cause some embarrassment.

An executive room gives you certain perks including access to the executive lounge on the 31st floor – perks include free WiFi in the executive lounge but I agree with other comments - the Wi-Fi should come free in the rooms as standard. The executive lounge offers free drinks and snacks in the early evening and I availed of this a few times while the missus was getting ready! I think they also offer a free ironing service but we didn’t use this. There is a top floor bar just above the executive lounge with panoramic views. We enjoyed a nice romantic cocktail up there around 1am but there wasn’t much atmosphere.

Breakfast was nice in the executive lounge but choice was slightly limited. I’d read about the amazing breakfast on the ground floor but we didn’t get to try it as the hotel was booked out for a football tournament and advised us we’d need to pay a supplement to eat there. Apart from breakfast we didn’t eat in the hotel … outside the hotel, the riverfront restaurant (one minute walk from hotel, just right at the ferry pier) is great value, tasty food and well worth trying.

The service & staff are first class – in particular the reception, executive lounge and beach area staff. We arrived at 10am on the Friday and although check-in isn’t until 2pm they give us the room early. The 4th floor ‘beach’ pool area has a few private Jacuzzi’s overlooking the river, which I highly recommend using. I explained to one of the staff that we were on honeymoon and they brought us a free cake and drinks, they also lit candles and put flowers in the Jacuzzi before we arrived. It was such a lovely gesture and their warmth and friendliness was amazing.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room

On the Plus side - beautiful facility right on the river in central bangkok, buffet was great, private water taxi to the other side of the river was great
rooms were very comfortable, quiet and decor was beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful
the views are FANTASTIC

On the negative side - concierge led us astray several times, food in the executive lounge wasn't great.

We've been to Bangkok five or six times and always stay at this Hilton when we do. It's excellent value. Can't compare it to other hotels in the vicinity but it always delivers exactly what's expected.

The hotel is a Conrad Hotels property and as such it's a stylish but understated hotel. Amongst the most impressive features is the sky bar on the top floor (32nd) with panoramic views across the City. At night it's lit only by a few candles here and there and the lights of the city make a spectacular backdrop. Drinks are reasonably priced and there's always live music. There's also a roof terrace on the executive floor (31st ) which also has fantastic views.

Executive rooms give you access to the lounge - with the usual benefits (afternoon tea, complimentary drinks at happy hour etc) and a separate check in. THere's also free wifi in the executive lounge. You've to pay for it in the room though which is a bit disappointing. Executive rooms are probably not worth the extra except for the benefit of getting a room on a higher floor. Afternoon tea is definetly not as generous as it used to be and you now have to pay for breakfast in the main restaurant (previously you could choose to eat there or in the executive lounge).

Rooms are a good size. The executive suites are very large. Try and get a river view if you can but even the rooms at the back of the hotel have amazing views.

The decor is stylish and not overly modern - so it hasn't really dated. There's definitely a quality feel to the hotel.

Service is excellent throughout the hotel and we've never really had any niggles at all.

The Hotel is located on the river and there is a shuttle boat to and from the Skytrain (Saphan Taksin station) and a few other places of interest (e.g. the new asiatique mall and the River City mall). The shuttle takes about 10 minutes and they leave every 15 / 20 mins.

There's a decent market next door to the hotel where you can eat very cheaply indeed if you fancy a break from hotel prices. There are a few decent places ranging from ultra-cheap market stalls to slightly more substantial restaurants, and a few coffee shops and bars. There's also a 7-eleven immediately adjacent to the hotel.

Finally - dinner at the buffet at Flow was amazing and well worth it (although it's a bit pricy by Thai prices). Also if you like cheese they have an entire walk-in cheese room. The only thing missing is someone to explain to you what they are.

If I had a single caveat it would be to be aware that it can be quite a businessy hotel - on one occasion when we stayed some company's annual conference was going on meaning the hotel was very busy and the sky bar was booked out for a private function one of the nights. It wasn't a major issue thought and that's the only occasion it's happened in the five or so times we've stayed here.

We were privileged to occupy the top floor... Overlooking the river with wide windows, it was panoramic to say the least. The service, and the river shuttles a definite plus. Once again I was disappointed not to see Paris. The Thai restaurant on the 2nd floor a delight. We danced, and they did too. We had such a laugh during our stay that I can't wait to go back. The bar's Irish coffee was one of the best I had. Walk out and right on the door step, the hawkers..

Room Tip: Room with wide windows overlooking the river. Do not look straight down your balcony, it's Bang...

Executive, I think, is absolutely pointless as you normally in this fascinating city is! Good authentic food you can get all 20 meters on the road! The normal double rooms are absolutely sufficient and the view of floor 21 directly on the river loved it!
