Our 3rd visit to Town in Town and the rooms are looking somewhat tired these days.
However, the reception is very efficient, bags taken to rooms, taxis ordered etc and the self service breakfast is worth the 150TB charge.

The rooms are spacious and the bedding is very clean. There are shops and eating places just around the corner.

Handy place for an overnight stay.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, by necessity as it is near where I had to be (although in general terms a very inconvenient location for tourists and business travellers) However, despite *having* to stay here, i cannot recommend Town in Town. This time I checked in there were no less than 13 problems with the reservation, the room and the services - most of which I could correct, but exhausted myself doing so. I wanted everything right for my boss and my preparation was very time consuming with all the little problems: wrong MONTH reservation, first room smelled of glue, second one one of the electrical outets not functioning, wifi not working, cable for land line not functioning. On and on. I have things to do with my time other than making sure i can get on with business.

They have piles of staff, give discounts, send people to the room to correct the problems. but i want a problem-FREE stay not smiling and fast attempts to solve them. This sort of management by emergency instead of maintenance I expect in a hotel at half the price.

And the breakfast is very uninspiring - standard western and mostly Asian. Low quality 'fruit' drinks, oily noodles etc. Ask for a lower price with no food and eat around the corner at one of the Thai restaurants.

Room tip: In most of South-East Asia don't try to accomplish anything by telephone in your room booking. Go in person. And don't accept the first room. Insist on seeing several. And keep changing hotels. Unlike in some western countries loyalty is not rewarded. The longer you stay and the more regular a customer you are, the worse you will be treated.

We stayed here for 2 nights when we first arrived in Bangkok, and had a good experience so came back for our last night before we flew out. We were on a floor that was a bit tired as far as decor goes on the first trip, but had newly refurbished the second time, with new carpet (9th floor). It was clean and comfortable.
We were the only ones who used the pool, and enjoyed the experience of having it all to ourselves, particularly refreshing in the humidity of April . Its not too far from the airport and we found it easy to catch a taxi to malls like MBK.
The breakfast buffet was convenient, reasonably priced at 150 baht, and set us up for the day.

We would happily stay here again.

Room tip: 9th floor has been refurbished

I stayed here as part of a youth conference. The experience was wonderful and the staff was friendly. Aside from the location which is about a 40-minute ride to night markets, the Wi-Fi service in the lobby is quite erratic, requiring some reboots every now and then from the router. I really think they should upgrade their hardware to handle heavy capacity. The availability of Swensen's, McDonald's, 7-11 Convenience Stores make up for the location. You can get a taste of the local cuisine just a few meters away from the hotel. The breakfast buffet was absolutely awesome, especially their omelette. It was quite amazing. I didn't get to try the massage but my friends say that it was great and cheap too.
