“A Truely Excellent hotel at a Bargain Price”
Reviewed December 23, 2009

I have stayed at this hotel on several previous occasions and it doesn't disappoint. Usually one can find something about an hotel that does not meet with approval, however this is not the case here.

The staff, the rooms, the location and services are all great.

Previous comments about the 'cold breakfast' are unfounded and the entire breakfast experience was a delight, with more choice than one could ever need.

The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant and everyone speaks such good English. You would be lucky to experience that level of English or courtesy in a UK hotel.

The hotel is spotless and the facilities are great.

Some say that the hotel is not conveniently situated. It is, however, just a few minutes walk from the excellent Skytrain and taxis are everywhere. Taxi driver pestering and taxi parking around the hotel is an irritation (they park on the path), but a simple 'no thank you' deals with that. I was there for two weeks and only took two taxi journeys and that was in respect of a visit to an exhibition centre.

Sadly the pavements (walkways) are often in an appalling condition and the road to this hotel is no exception. Some areas remain unrepaired for years. This is not really acceptable, but it seems a low priority for the authorities.

This trip has been expensive due to the demise of the British Pound Sterling. The difference this year has been particularly noticeable.

To sum up, I cannot find fault with this very well run hotel and the staff are always cheerful and ever ready to help.

It is a great place to stay and I would recommend it to all.

My wife and I checked into this hotel for our last few days in Thailand, after an enjoyable week in Koh Chang. The hotel itself appears nice, although is itself adjacent to some shady business in the nearby alleyway. Our room was a Grande Deluxe, was clean, until we turned on the air conditioning and a strange smell started to fill the room. We were too tired to complain, and turned in.

The next morning, we had the breakfast buffet, and this is where the trouble started. The buffet appeared very good, and we all partook. I, however, ate some of the breakfast meets, which appeared undercooked and were underheated in the chafing dish (under 140 F). About a half hour after breakfast, I developed stomach pain, and about an hour after that, I was in acute gastric distress, so to speak. My wife, who is half Thai and has family in BKK, had her family come and assess the situation, and they decided to take me to nearby Bumungrad International Hospital (very convenient to the hotel), where I spent the next three days, along with my wife, who did not get sick.

In conclusion, the hotel is okay, particularly considering the price. I, however, probably will not stay there again, given my experience. They did not charge us for the rest of our reservation, which was a pleasant surprise. If you do stay there, be mindful of the food. My suggestion is to try eating where the locals eat instead.

Booked online and I was very happy with the results. The rooms, food, live entertainment & especially the breakfast were very good. The Hotel's location is not the best but what's inside and the price make up for any location problem. I've stayed at 5 different hotels in Bangkok including 2 excellent 5 Stars & this is a 4 Star +. Very comfortable bed and the personnel were always helpful. I would consider this hotel to be the best bargain that I've stayed at in Bangkok and would definetly return. Paid approx. $100 USD incl breakfast.

MAJESTIC GRANDE - there seem to be only two elevators which were jammed (someone here said it was not built to be a hotel) - the pool area nice but the deck was too small and no where near enough chairs - to say nothing about no afternoon sun- the exec floor rooms are same as others but with 1000 baht upcharge- the gym was very basic- rooms small- bathrooms ok - not for me

Never been to Bangkok b4 and loved every minute!!! Didn't find it scary at all. The hotel was in a perfect location for going out and about and located right by the sky train which was really easy to use so don't be scared defo try it. It takes ages to go anywhere by taxi so it is really cheap and quick. Recommend the grande palace, we went on the floating markets but probably wouldn't do that from bangkok again.

Stayed at the Majestic Grande for four nights and could not fault the hotel at all. The rooms were pleasant, modern, clean and had all the extras you could wish for including fresh fruit. Had dinner at Dine @ 7 on the first night and this was an excellent buffet style meal. The choice was good and the food and service matched. All staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel is within walking distance of the skytrain. Bangkok is a full on city and the Majestic Grande provides a calm respite from the madness outside.
