“Decent hotel, disliked Bangkok, location a bit dodgy”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

The fact that I really just disliked Bangkok very much coloured my experience of our stay there. However, I will say that this was a very clean, nice, large hotel with what seemed to be a nice restaurant downstairs (we didn't try it) and centrally located to Bangkok CBD. We enjoyed sitting around by the pool having cocktails. Our main complaint location-wise was just that the street was poorly lit and the hotel itself is somewhat removed from the main drag of pubs/stripclubs/street vans etc and we were followed home by a man and were very relieved to run into the hotel right as he was closing in on us! Also getting the shuttle van into town is completely pointless, it was promoted to us as if it would do a bit of a tour of the CBD but it just drives you up the road a few blocks and at daytime this was unnecessary.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend a stay in Bangkok CBD but if you have to stay overnight en-route or for business then this hotel will give no complaints.

Note: We actually travelled early January, 2011 but TripAdvisor won't let me select back that far.

This hotel lacks maintance and is not one that I whould recommend for anything other than a stopover stay. The rooms are dark and very basic. The staff are very off hand and only do the very minimum.
The food is expensive and very poor quality and drinks are expensive. Luckily there are lots of reataurants and bars close by with good food and better prices.

Room Tip: fourth and fifth floors only. The rest are very dark.

Before going to Bangkok, I made few searches in internet and found more negative reviews than positive about this hotel. But after staying there for one night I was impressed and liked this hotel. The photos attracted me to book for two rooms, and when I was there, it was as expected. The pool on 5th floor was the main attraction for me. The open restaurant was also good. Reception is decent. Paid through credit card- no hassle. I might stay there again.

This we rated as the worst Hotel we stayed in out of eleven in three countries. First off they forgot to pick us up from the airport and then tried to say it was "our fault as we didn't confirm our booking" - we had a confirmation email that booked room and pick up with flight details etc. So if the pick up wasn't confirmed then the room should not have been either but it was? No sorry - but they did check us in quickly.
The rooms are a good size but the airconditioner was like sleeping on a railway station. The rooms are definately thin walled as the guys up stairs came home at three in the morning and maybe dancing - lots of noise over the air con noise. I have nothing against parties but maybe the after midnight the Hotel nightperson should have gone to ask them to tone it down. We were to stay six nights but next morning we checked out and moved Hotels.
We didn't bother with breakfast was it was served in the open restaurant which has no air con so food out in humidity. The staff were fine and the Hotel is probably ok for persons who like to party.

Room Tip: Check the air con and maybe select the top floor so noone is above you.

At the end of Soi 4 (Nana Soi), so very close to NEP and other clubs where the action is. Tuk Tuk service each 30 minutes to Sukhumvit Road. Deluxe Room was quite big, but only with bath tube. And... what's an absolute CON: hot water only when not switched onto shower function. So you have to switch it quite frequently. Small ants in the room. incl taxes and services for sure a value.

Room Tip: To have aircon 24/7 release the key from the stick, when you leave the room. If you are leaving lat...

The receptionist are absolutely disappointing , , very RUDE , very unhelpfull,
We were really shocked that the reception could be so useless, I will NEVER ever check in here again, BUT i must say, the cafeteria was very good, staff there very helpful and polite.
Our request to see the management to lodge an official complaint was also not attended to.
It would not be nice to name the rude staff here, but we were there on 16 - 18 September.
