difficult to get close to truly appreciate. Short skytrain ride from most anywhere. A good stopping point on the way to/from the weekend market.

The monument can be seen from the sky train while going up to JJ market. It is a true great monument with all the required elements there. However it has never been clear to me what Victory there was to erect eh monument in the first place.

You can find everything in affordable price from 50-299 thb.Lot of good food. Dont forget to drop at the noodle shop along the canel. The noodle is cost 10 bath per bowl.Don't be surprised that veryone in the shop eat more than 10 bowls ..Must try :)

Not for the shallow Touristy types but for those who want to experience a bit of daily BKK life it is definitely worth the effort. Get there via the Sky train and get down to ground level. The monument is impressive and you will be able to sus out a main transport hub.

Built to pay tribute to the role of Thai forces during 2nd WW, the monument is located within a traffic circle - the area remains too busy and crowded with the pedestrians, food stalls and the street sellers. It is actually a transportation hub in the area. The monument looks impressive and is a good place to be photographed, have your camera handy for taking a few snapshots!
