Built to pay tribute to the role of Thai forces during 2nd WW, the monument is located within a traffic circle - the area remains too busy and crowded with the pedestrians, food stalls and the street sellers. It is actually a transportation hub in the area. The monument looks impressive and is a good place to be photographed, have your camera handy for taking a few snapshots!

Militarist monument of Thailand's regime of 1940s. Strange feeling that it was imported from somewhere in USSR. Place itself is full of food stalls and pubs, living and colorful in contrast with monument in the middle. If you stay in greater area, go for breakfasts and dinners to Victory.

One of these landmarks you can see well enough in your tuk tuk or you just hop out for a minute. It will not take a lot of time and you can check it of your list.

From Victory Monument you can get a minibus to most northern and southern cities for a fraction of the price of price of flying, and take in the Thai countryside once you leave the city limits of Bangkok.

Its huge and you cant miss it while walking up to the BTS train station. Thats all you really need to do. Snap a photo at sunset or something.
