“Great budget option on Khao San Road”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

Got a clean room with a double bed on higher floor in the back with a small balcony. Very quiet in the back. WIFI good, cable with few English channels and good AC. Room service from restaurant across the street where you will also get a free breakfast. Staff friendly and it's right in the middle of KSR with everything you need in the area. They charged me $25 per night on agoda. Look for the big neon sign and walk under it into the shops area to the back to get to the hotel. 7-11 and McDonalds right out the door. Pool, beauty salon and bar on the roof. I intend to stay here again when I go back to Bangkok.

Room Tip: Go high and/or in the back to avoid noise from KSR.

The location is good because it is right on the main strip in the backpacker area. But be warned, the cheapest rooms are very, very noisy, only choose if you are at the party downstairs until about 3 AM. You will not sleep! The rooms are reasonably OK, but basic. Even with the basic rooms you still get a buffet breakfast. The nice touch is the top floor bar with swimming pool, but the pool is quite shallow and not really suitabke for swimming! But the rooms are not worth what they charge, and the rooms exposed to the sound should not be rented out.i would not choose this hotel again.

location is great and right on koh san road if that is where you want to be. has a roof top pool which is a nice touch as well but rooms are average to poor and after having left realised that some cash had gone missing from my bag which i should have locked by seeing it was a private room and not a dorm is very disappointing and left a black mark over the stay

Stayed in this hotel in Bangkok, first week of May 2013. The hotel is located on Khosan road, which is near many nearby tourist attractions such as temples, markets and river ferry terminals. Khosan road at night is loud as hell but quite entertaining, with restaurants, counterfeit goods for sale, even vendors selling fried insects!. Lots of vendors would pester you for a tuk tuk ride or taxi, making you a suit, and seeing a "ping pong show"(sex show) If you want a quiet place, this is probably not the place for you, some of the rooms can be loud with people coming in all night long from the bars etc. We found the hotel staff moderately helpful and not as bad as many reviews stated. The room we had was clean and had warm water, nice b-room with separate showers, somewhat hard beds, AC, TV and fridge. The rooftop pool and bar where nice, but once again for the party crowd. At least one cat was roaming the hotel, which was not a problem for me- comically I saw him in both the lobby and the 7th floor pool deck and even in the elevator! The restaurant that served breakfast for the hotel was located across the street, it had coffee, fruit, egss and meat and toast and cereal and strangly, spaghetti and sauce, every AM. It was hot in the restaurant and they had techno music going even at 7 Am. All in all i found the hotel to be pretty good, if you have a sense of humor and are not uptight. The location is great for seeing the sights too!

Room Tip: get a room high up and facing central courtyard to minimize street noise!!

D & D Inn is in a great location for the bars on Khoa San Road but I wouldn't recommend more than two nights here. The street is very noisy and it is difficult to leave the hotel without being pestered to buy a suit or go on a trip or take a tuk tuk ride. But the rooms are clean, the beds were comfy and the staff were friendly. We were also able to leave our luggage at the hotel for a small fee while we left the city for a few days.
It seemed quite expensive compared to some of the places we stayed during out trip. We had to go to a restaurant across the road for breakfast which was very basic.
If you are looking for something basic is the hustle and bustle of Bangkok then give it a try but ots not for everyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the building so that you are not facing the main road. This will be qu...

If you get a good room then this place is nice. The Standard double is good, the Superior double is beautiful. But make sure you avoid any rooms facing the Kaosan Road! Unless you're planning to party all night. I usually don't have problems with noise but this is just on another level...
The pool on the roof can be a saviour on a hot day in the city but it's always full and mostly always full of rowdy drunken youth.
The breakfast is so-so, nothing special at all.
The receptionists are nothing to brag about either. They're useful enough to take payments but that's about it.
This hotel is always full so book ahead.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing Kaosan Road.

Stayed here twice the second time there was a musky smell in the room which made it quite difficult to sleep.

Great price for the location. We paid a bit extra for a Superior room with a balcony and window and although the view wasn't great the room on the whole was very modern and comfortable with Asian influences. The roof top bar and pool were a really great touch especially as we stayed at Songkran so it was a nice getaway. The bar staff were friendly although reception staff weren't and the guy who opened the luggage room for us demanded a tip for just opening a door. Breakfast was accross the street and surprisingly really nice with quite a lot of choice.

Khoasan Road is a crazy and an extremely busy place to stay but I would definitely recommend this place as its clean and cheap.
