“Best price, good place”
Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

I stayed 3 days in double room with a friendly stranger. Everything good. I live 1 day and i had a terrible experience in silom. At the end i come back for the last 2 days and i stay alone in a double room. 550 bath. Perfect. No windows, free wi fi.

we did not do any homework before we decided to stay in this hotel, and ignorantly picked this hotel as most of the hotels were already full when we reach there in late night. Firstly, the staff in the reception, who did not greet, showed indifferent expression. After we paid, we went in to the room, and found out the room smells moldy and has cockroaches - not just one, it was a lot of them that we nearly scream and jumped.

We rushed to the reception, hoping to get the refund and look for another hotel. The guy at the reception promised to put us into another clean room, and we gave it a try. (we were weary at that time so we kinda compromised). the room was slightly better, not as bad as the first room, but still, run down, damp, dirty. gross, and we also spotted a cockroach on the wall (gosh!) but we compromised as we really need a place to rest.

on the next morning, one of our local friends went to the hotel to join us, was questioned by the staff in the reception in a very unfriendly way. At last, we have to go down to the lobby to meet her.

All in all, all of the staff, inclusive of the hotel owner, are all unfriendly and unhelpful. I was dismayed and unpleasantly surprised to learn that some people in the hospitality industry can be that gross. I will never ever set foot in the thai cozy house again.

My wife & I sort of happened into the Thai Cozy House. We arrived early, 4 AM, and most places were full or wanted to charge full rate for 8 hours. We called up & they said come on by as there was 1 room available & they would allow an early check in. The staff were superb! The hotel is just off of Khao San but there was no noise. My wife got some good shopping done at the markets & I found a nice pub all within walking distance. Several good eateries, Thai & international, are nearby. The breakfast served in the lobby was also good enough. It was included in the room rate which was a more than reasonable 900 Baht per night. A good choice if you're in that neighborhood!

Room Tip: They were begining construction on the side we stayed on (509). It wasn't bad on the couple of d...

stayed here for about a week & it was a change from staying right on khao san road where i got no sleep from the noise. i found this the next morning by walking 2 streets away(3mins from khao san) and it had air con/fridge/wifi/ensuite all for about 20 € which was just what i wanted. would recommend. also very clean.

Room Tip: 4th floor was nice

I stayed here for two nights and it was like living in a box. It had everything in the room I.e. fridge air con, phone but it was so small. I was alone so I don't know how 2 people would manage. There was no window. The staff were very helpful and it was right in the heart of everything which was a plus. I suppose it was okay for the money but there are better places about for the same price.

Room Tip: The rooms are all the same

Pros:
1) the location is good for those who what to stay near Kao San but a little away in a less noisy area
2) free wi-fi in the rooms
3) good laundry and good massage place upstairs

Cons:
1) i saw several small cockroaches in the room
2) the room is not perfectly clean, its quite shabby. But i guess its the common problem for many hotels in Kao San. dont expect anything great from them.

In general its bearable and okay hotel for a short stay near Kao San.

Room Tip: A room with a window is better but more expensive. Room 302 is lighter than others on the same floor...

This place is fine if you just want a place to sleep in a convenient location, its cleanish, very well located, and cheap, works out about £12 per night.
If you are getting a bus into Bangkok from other parts of Thailand, its well recommended as you will get dropped off almost outside, and the bus's tend to get in quite late.
The rooms are basic and windowless, and the cable TV has a habit of freezing more often than it is actually playing! If you are planning a night out on the Koh San Road, its only a few moments walk, but far enough off the strip not to be too noisy. The beds are small but actually quite comfortable and you will have an en suite bathroom (again very basic). If you are just looking for a place to get your head down, it is fine but not memorable.
You will probably need to book in advance as the rooms fill up quickly from travellers arriving by bus from other parts of the country.

Room Tip: Remember to book in advance
