“A good view of the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

It is best to go before 6 pm as the price will be 300 baht (after 6 pm will be 400 baht). The ticket counter is located at the entrance of the hotel. To go up to the rotating wheel, you will need to take a total of 3 elevator (1st elevator to the hotel's reception, 2nd elevator to the observation deck (77th floor) where you can view the city indoor through glass window + need pay additional to use the telescope, 3rd elevator to the sky bar (83th floor)). After reaching sky bar, you will need to climb stair to reach the highest 84th floor - rotating wheel where you can have an outdoor 360 degree view of the city. The view from the rotating wheel is great however, when the wheel turns, there is creaking noise and the the platform felt is slightly wobbly. The wind is also pretty strong up there.

The ticket also include a drink in the sky bar. The bar look pretty rundown though. Overall, i think it is worth to go up just for the view but once will be enough.

“overrated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

Came here because of the interesting review. Crowded with tourists. Paid 400baht to go to the viewing deck. We had to go into different elevators (confusing) to go up and the staff didnt exactly help, so we were confused for a while. Got a good look at the hotel while waiting, some part didnt look very well taken care of. Got free drink at the bar (not good at all, the bar looked a bit run down). Then had to go up the dark stairwell with weird alien decor that was not pleasing to the eye. Got really weird vibe from this place really. The rotating viewing deck did give us a great night view of Bangkok but it didnt make feel safe and secure so I hurried inside again and kinda missed the whole point. That was 400baht not very well spent, i'm sure we can get a better place to view the city and spend about the same (like skybar) This place is a bit shaby for me.will not come back and recommend it to anyone.

“Good view but too many people”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

I came here on the last night in Bangkok to see the night view from the tallest building. It was good. I enjoy the view and the food (international buffet) was okay. One downside, there are too many people, most of them are tour groups.

“Pricey and full of people”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

The place was crowded - we went there for an evening dinner. 900 Baht for a meal is a ripoff - to be frank - especially since the food is mostly heated frozen stuff. Enjoy a drink and the view during daytime. The view is limited during the evening since the moist outside the air conditioned dining hall prevents the view.

“Like hovering on a helicopter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

If you lament not able to see Bangkok in a day, here's one place you can get to see (have a bird's eye view) of all of Bangkok in less than an hour. For 300 baht, you get right up to the highest floor (84th floor) of the highest building in Thailand where there is a revolving observatory deck. Here you feel like hovering inside an old rugged helicopter, with the grinding and rumbling sound of spinning wheels below you and the strong gusty wind blowing in your face. Half the time you will be squinting your eyes as you struggle against the blinding tropic sun and another half you rest and enjoy the breathtaking view of the city. You see Chao Phraya in the distance and you bet with your kid which BTS station you alighted from. Down below you see a winding maze of roads and cars streaming over the highways. When it is all done, you go down one level to rest and enjoy a complimentary drink. Next we proceeded to the 77th floor to find Baiyoke Floating Market. Oh no, not the real stuff, just background to take some photos in case you miss the real ones plus...there were many other replicas for you to take some photos. After getting some souvenirs, we headed down. Right in the heart of Pratunam, it's the perfect timing and place to go shopping for some garments and cheap clothing just at the doorstep of Baiyoke Sky Tower for our next agenda of the day!
