Stayed here a couple weeks ago for 3 nights. 500 Bhat/night. Rooms in this part of town are hard to come by. We walked around for an hour and most places were booked solid. We snagged one of the few rooms left (#413)
The good: Ground floor lobby is the best feature. It's very big, good wifi, decent food, fairly quiet, good place to chill and recharge your batteries. Also good is each room you can pad lock from the outside so noone can pick the lock and get in. Also lockers downstairs which also require your own padlock. Staff were not overly friendly.
The bad: Room was old old old. Blanket on the bed looked like is was older than me (I'm 34). We were like...ewww...and just stuffed it in the closet. You are a block off Khao San road but can still hear the thump of the base. A bit noisy, bring ear plugs!!
The bathroom was about the size of a bathtub and mildewy smelling. I wore my sandals in there to shower.
Overall the room sucked but for 500 Bhat/night in this area this is what you'll get anywhere. We decided to go cheap on the room in Bangkok and spend our money on the nice hotels on the islands.
