We chose this hotel based on the reviews and photos, and were not disappointed. We opted for a 1 bedroom for 4 nights for our family of 3 which included a toddler. We arrived in the evening, check-in was a breeze and the baby cot requested was all ready.

Facilities wise, we wanted a kitchenette so this was equipped with utensils for light cooking. A few additional items would be thoughtful such as a kitchen cloth, dish washing liquid and sponge but housekeeping did provide after we requested. The washing machine was useful but there was no dryer so that was not quite practical after washing yr clothes and nowhere to hang them except in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, there was a strand of what looked like pubic hair in the bath tub when we first arrived, and the tub did not look clean. Housekeeping certainly can do with some improvements in cleaning. An adaptor we needed was provided swiftly. Hot water was very efficient so be careful of the tap that heated up pretty quickly. In general the room was well appointed and pleasant although possibly dusty a little as hubby's sinus acted up the whole time we were there and the toddler was coughing and sniffling while indoors.

As for the other facilities, our toddler enjoyed the kids playroom very much, and loved playing the toys provided. The pool was small and the tiles did not make it inviting but our toddler enjoyed her dip nonetheless. We also thought the business lounge looked beautiful and chic, even better than the picture. Breakfast was not huge but adequate. We were not allowed to take away a few pastries for our toddler, which I thought was unreasonable as other 5 star hotels usually have no issue other than cautioning to consume any takeaway food immediately.

Location wise, we were a couple of mins away from Chit Lom BTS which is a stop away from shopping central at Siam. Along the way there's 7-11 (just across the street), a Starbucks and Burger King as well as massage salons and a variety of Western restaurants. Pavements are not meant for baby strollers so baby-wearing was a better option.

On another note, we used a car service called Oriental Escape for airport transfer as they quoted half the price of the hotel's luxury car service and threw in a child car seat at no additional charge. Be sure to wait at the exact location stated on the booking form, as we had difficulty locating our driver and had to call their hotline for help.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay here and will recommend it to other families with young children.

Location of the apartment is good, it's on Soi Langsuan and there are plenty of restaurants and street food nearby. It's a short walk to Chid Lom BTS but there's always things to see on the way there so the walk feels shorter. A safe and upscale neighbourhood with plenty of tourists. During lunchtime you will see a lot of office people coming out for lunch. You can even walk from the hotel to Erawan Shrine and Central World Plaza. You may like to try the foot massage at Jasmine massage at Portico, it's 300THB for 60 minutes.

For the not so good:

Breakfast spread was limited. They did try to change some of the dishes though. Service is a little spotty in some areas. The room was spacious enough. I added in an extra cot and the cot was placed in the living area. Mattress was very thin and I didn't have a good sleep. I also felt that the lock on the door was a little filmsy. The bathtub didn't seem very clean, did not use it. I like the decor of the room but the room is showing a bit of age. Swimming pool is deserted but it's really small with one part of it really shallow. Not that good for a proper swim.

If you are looking for an apartment with a good location and do not have a big budget, then you can consider Cape House. However if you have more money to spare, you may want to consider one of the many hotels in the area.

I may try Hotel Muse next time. It's a block further down the road from Cape House.

We stay at this hotel several times per year starting from 2006. Best service, best rooms (stay in studio and 2 bedrooms), best breakfasts and lunches. You really feel like at home there. 5 minutes to BTS. Hilly recommended.

Cape House is a well managed property in an ideal location. It is excellent for families for short or long stays. The Italian restaurant (43) is well recommended. Don't forget to try the omelets when the Master Chef from 43 is making them during breakfast (that's a real treat).
Which reminds me - the breakfast is (as expected of Thai hotels) the best.
Langsuan road where Cape House is located, has easy access to the Chidlom area and Lumpini park. Gaggan (Indian, Italian, reproductions) and Ninth Cafe are also located down the road (both a must try at least once).
And ofcourse, don't forget to take a foot massage (I would recommend Chang's or Jasmine which are a little ahead of Cape House).

Room Tip: Choose a Non-smoking floor

This was our fifth hotel in Thailand and the last stop before flying home to UK. After a short hop from Chiang Mai, we landed in Bangkok's Don Meung Airport and straight into the infamous Bangkok rush hour. Our taxi negotiated round to the hotel in the embassy district. We were greeted by the usual warm Thai hospitality. We were checked-in by the very efficient staff. As we were early, the reception staff guided us to the 15 floor's business centre with the magnificent views. We had complimentary tea and coffee and finger food, just as well we didn't have breakfast in Chiang Mai or in flight. After a short wait, we were lead to our studio room adjacent to the Business Centre, how very convenient. There was a hint of Japanese at this place. The studio was quite spacious, with the kitchenette and a washing machine thrown in. Just what we needed to wash our clothes as we were running out. Shame it didn't have a built in dryer as well, never mind - Can't have it all. The air-conditioning will do the track!!
It was a treat in terms of location, facilities and price after having stayed at the various establishment in Thailand.
The staff were very knowledgeable of the usual sights in Bangkok and others off the beaten tracks. They pointed out I was in the wrong attire to go to the Grand Palace which would have resulted in a refusal of entry and embarrassment not to mention a possible slap from missus. The apartment was conveniently located near Chit Lom BTS and near some of the department stores with their food halls. The hotel door/security were excellent in getting metered taxi when you need one and we learned from them over the period we stayed at the apartment. Breakfast in the Italian Restaurant was nice and easy going with the chef happily making egg dishes to your request. You can quite easily stuffed yourself in the morning then snacking for the rest of the day with the unlimited supplies of street food before a nice dinner somewhere in the city. I have no hesitation in recommended this place to anyone visiting Bangkok. The only complaint I have is that they should fix door-stops on the floor where the double doors are located to stop the doors banging into our apartment wall especially in the middle of the night. Loud enough to wake up the dead.

Room Tip: Try for a none smoking room or a room away from those double doors near the lifts.

As this was our first visit to Bangkok we were unsure what to expect and as soon as we walked in we felt like we were in a five star hotel in Sydney! Staff were professional, attentative, friendly. They spoke excellent english and always served us with a smile. We had a studio room which was more like a small apartment, just beautiful. Breakfast was included and had everything you could want. Location was perfect. So close to the sky train that will take you to all the main attractions. We highly recommend MBK centre for cheap shopping (get off skytrain at National Stadium). After very busy days out in the town, Cape House was the perfect place to come back to for a swim and spa and just relax. Thank you to everyone at Cape House
