“Famous Backpacker Street in Bangkok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2008

Khao San Road is a famous backpacker street in Bangkok. The street at night is filled with tourists from the West and as well as Japanese. We went there for a quick drink as well as night market shopping. The selection of stalls here is more quite different from the normal markets as they tend to be more backpackers friendly with a lot of casual T-shirts & dresses.
After a quick walk around, we chose a bar at the roadside and ordered the local beer, Chang beer with a small plate of Phad-Thai (fried rice noodles) while we sat and watched the passerby as the night went darker but the street went brighter and more crowded.

“Buy Road”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2008

We have just returned from Pataya Beach. We stayed at Sawasdee Inn Hotel at Khao San Road. The hotel is ok. I booked from my home country, so I no need to looking for arround.
We like stayed in Khao San Road. Very busy area. People came from all the world stayed there.
It's actually more like a back pack area.

“a bit of peace near khao san road”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2006

If you want to stay near Khao san road but don't like the noise, I've discovered a peaceful alternative. It's a new guesthouse (opened June 2006) on Tannee Road ( a couple of streets away from Khao san.) It has lovely rooms with aircon and satellite tv, an internet cafe with the best espresso I found in Bangkok.! There's a small, peaceful sun terrace on the roof and the owners are friendly and speak good English. It's not as cheap as some places in Khao san, with rooms at 1,500 thai baht, but I thought it was well worth the extra. It's called Pannee House, 95-97 Tannee road, .[--------------------]
