its a bit dirty and people just want to rip you off, but my daughter who is just 2 and a half years old thoroughly enjoyed this place getting a tattoo (temporary of course) and also getting dread locks which were amazingly cheap, and to finish it off there's McDonald's.... so kids friendly too...... we spent a whole day here and had fun

“Awesome Atmosphere”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

This is a backpackers haven! My husband and i are not backpackers at all but just love spending evenings here. Good street food, nice stalls and loud music. There are also a few clubs in this road but we did not go. Will definitely be returning in our next trip.

“Backpacker + Weird Insect Available Here”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is another hotspot in Bangkok. Most of teh backpacker will stay within the budget inn here. And it becomes a crowded area especially for tourist starts from 7 evening.

Also I would like to share to all the tourist who looking for the weird insects like fried grasshopper, scorpion, maggots, frog, cricket, you name it here, which all available here at the evening. Honestly Im coming to this place just because wanna try on these insects which always seen on TV show about travel and discovery.

Guess what, you must try all of it, its really worth for a try especially you fly from the long way till Bangkok. Dont freak out, as these insect have been fried, so no poison on you. Dont worry. As im still alive after tried all these insects......hehehehehe.....the only freaking out is the insect outlook.....so dont be panic by the insects and give it a try. You will fall in love on it especially GRASSHOPPER....mmmmmmmmmmmm....crispy like french fries......yummy....yummy.....

“Love it and leave it”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

For many backpackers this is their introduction to Bangkok. It's noisy, busy, the beers are overpriced (160 Baht for a large Singha is as expensive as in many European places), the pad thai is disgusting, the western food is greasy, a lot of ladyboys on the prowl after 2am, tailor touts, pingpong show touts, etc, etc, etc... But you gotta love it. There's some excellent people-watching to do, there are some half-decent but commercial clubs, it's very easy to meet people if you are traveling solo, some good massage places,... You can use it as your homebase for a few days and then go elsewhere in BKK or book a ticket to Thailand's many other destinations. Take it as it comes!
