Description: Originally an old Teak house that was rotting away on the corner of main road Sam Sen and Soi 1 (Thanon Lamphu)CHOMP The Comfort Cafe was created to fill the need for something different in the area.As much as possible of the original building was salvaged and the newly renovated 2 story cafe mixes homey red brick and industrial era features with wooden floors & ceilings in the old Thai building. Big glass windows are perfect for people watching in the hussle and bussle of Bangkok daily life while still enjoying natural light and staying cool in the air condition no matter what the weather. The second floor is a large roomy space with a kids play area, a family seating section with sofas and comfy chairs. It acts as an art gallery exhibiting local artists & photographers on a monthly rotating basis. Functions, parties, playgroups along with other community and social events (Poetry readings, Comedy nights etc) also take place on the 2nd floor. We have Yoga classes, BJJ Jiu Jitsu & more

I heard about this place through a friend who knows the owner. In the spirit of supporting a new independent business I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It's gorgeous and there is something for everyone.

I am on a health kick so had a fresh mango and pineapple juice followed by a substantial smoked salmon salad. Both were delicious. My pregnant friend satisfied her carb craving with the veggie breakfast, the best veggie sausages I have tasted in Bangkok. The table next to me were enjoying a burger the size of a house. My health kick went to pot when I saw the crepe cake - a mille-feuille of super fine crepe with fresh vanilla cream and a berry coulis. So light but so tasty.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly and there is a space upstairs where kids can play and draw on the walls while their parents eat.

Come for a visit, you won't be disappointed.

I was really surprised at how good this was. I've learnt to set my expectations low when it comes to western food in Asia but this was fantastic. The Meat Bolognese was the best I've had in a restaurant, good quality beef and the first time I've seen bolognese sauce done right! Excellent service all round too, attentive without being intrusive. Only suggestion would be to make it a bit clearer to passers by what sort of place it is - I think a few are likely to mistake it for just a bar. You do awesome food, you need to shout about it!

This is my first ever review on Tripadvisor and I felt like I had to sign up because I wanted to review this great little place.

If you're after an actual decent breakfast in Bangkok, rather than sloppy, half cooked fried eggs and cold toast. Then this is the place for you.

The staff and owners are extrememly welcoming and friendly... and its really genuine, unlike some places in Bangkok.

The farmers breakfast was delicious and the iced coffee just as good. Really nice chilled atmosphere and very relaxing to sit and read whilst you ate.

I was lucky enough to meet the owners; Gillie (hope thats spelt right) and Aey - both very friendly and great to talk to about Thailand. Gave me loads of great Island hopping tips.
