“A Christian Oasis in Downtown Bangkok”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I just love the BCGH and stay here every time I'm in Bangkok. The rooms are clean, equipped with A/C, a desk, chair, flat screen TV, bed a private bathroom with shower. WiFi is available, and there's an internet station downstairs that is very inexpensive.

Inexpensive excellent laundry service -just put your clothes in the bag provided outside your door before bed and the clothes are back the next day by 4:00 PM.

Free filtered water to fill your water bottle.
Nice breakfast in the morning usually included.
Starbucks and the Skttrain stop just a block away.

Great place to stay.

Room Tip: The rooms start on the 2nd floor. The building has locked gates at night and a security man.

Recommended for family with young children and elderly. Children could play the swing at the lawn while the folks could oversee them. Good and polite staff at the reception and housekeeping section. Great. Perhaps the little Gift Shop in support of charity work could be more organized and tidy in the display. Simple breakfast which is good is available in--house. Booking was done via email and paid on arrival. 3080 baht for a twin room. Nearest BTS station is Sala Daeang. About 12 mins walk to GH. Direction: north towards GH.

The guest house is conveniently situated 5 min away (walking) from the BTS sky train and close to the Silom BRT (train) station . In other words easy to access.
The guesthouse is also at a walking distance from silom road night market which is a nice attraction as well.
The rooms are clean and neat and the guesthouse is simply great value for the convenient location. The free wifi is a great addition.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I will definitely go back to the guest house

Room Tip: Request a room close to the wireless router to have the best connectivity

We stayed one night at the BCGH, our first night in Thailand, and we loved the guest house! We are a family of four, with two children (9 and 11), and we were mightily impressed. It's obviously not like staying in a fancy hotel, but it's a safe spot, clean, located in a very convient place near public transport and shopping. The breakfast wasn't impressive, but it gave us sustenance for an afternoon of shopping.

Also, if you're staying longer, there is a child's playroom, a lounge, and a library. The library is definite need of organization, as there seem to be boxes of donated books that need to be put out. Also, they need to be a bit more careful of the books they display as I was surprised to find a copy of "Fifty Degrees of Grey" on the shelves... obviously the books hadn't been well-vetted. I'd love to spend a few days organizing it for them, but I'm just a geek that way.

A bit of a tip - don't take a taxi from the airport. It cost about 400 baht, and while it was convenient, you can come much more cheaply using the skytrain. Contact the hotel to ask for information on how to do this, but you will save quite a bit of money if you come in this way.

In conclusion, we highly recommend this place as an economic, safe, simple, well-positioned calm in the storm of Bangkok. Go and enjoy!

I will continue to stay at the Bangkok Christian Guest House when in Bangkok. I've stayed there a number of times. It's clean and comfortable and very well-located near the sky-train, shops and restaurants. The staff is very good. The breakfasts are okay.

Having lived in Thailand for 6+ years and having traveled extensively between Chiang Mai and Bangkok this was THE place to stay. The location is perfect. The price is amazingly affordable. The rooms are clean, basic, and comfortable. The food is dependable. There is a good, reliable, welcome. I bypass the hotels for this!

I've just returned from one week in Bangkok and stayed at this Guest House. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable and very quiet each evening which made for a great night's sleep.
