i dont mind the walk, or the traffic to get to the gate of Golden Mountain. They worth it. under the city's bodhi trees, bringing inner peace and comfort. my personal spot in any season. but can be difficult during the rain. so check the weather before you go.

It's a little hill in flat Bangkok and after climbing it you find yourself in....a mountain. That is because Bangkok is flat, very flat. From the Temple on its top it's possible to see the whole Bangkok. The rtemple itself is inspiring, beautiful. Do not miss it....make an offer.

The Golden Mount there are more Temples which you should visit first but from the Golden Mount you do get a decent view of the city also use it as a land mark to go on water taxis in the Main Khlong (canal)

Apart from the amazing amount of gold here - 5.5 tons of it....the overall experience is not exceptional. Steep steps - but if you are handicapped there is an elevator available (you'll have to ask for directions). Neighborhood is adjacent to Chinatown - but not particularly picturesque. The Temple enshrining the Golden Buddah itself is not "ancient" - but fairly new - refurbished a few years ago - worth a visit if you have the time, but I'd place this one a few rungs done on the must see list if you have limited time

Great views of the old sity but the inside is a bit average - doesn't feel like a temple, more like an old souvenier shop.
