A pleasant place to escape the bustle of the city. It is surprisingly large considering it's location. The only downside is the foodcourt was closed during the lunchtime period.

I love this park most of all. While nearly all of the parks in Bangkok include exercise equipment and walking/jogging trails, Lumphini has a few locations around the park where this is found. There is Tai Chi in the early morning for those who start their day quite early and various aerobic or dance workouts throughout the day. You can also just walk around and enjoy the many different trees and flowers. Its very beautiful and you feel like you are outside of Bangkok. Maybe you will even make friends with a turtle...or a giant lizard!

My dear friend and I decided to go to Lumpini Park for the Bangkok Street Show 2013. What a great idea, the park itself is beautiful and allows a good view of some of Bangkok's skyline. We also spotted some big lizards sunbathing while boating around the paddle boating. Street food nearby is also excellent. We just loved it.

I loved this park. On arrival I thought it was going to be a bit if a disappointment but I'd got it all wrong.

It's not what you'd expect when your from the UK. But seeing lizzards swimming down the river and turtles being fed by the locals is an experience.

Try it out. It's not the prettiest park but it's different and worth checking out.

For runners, including this as part of your itinerary when in Bangkok is a must. Perhaps the best running park I have been to.
