Although I am not a fan of animal prisons it is a good place to escape traffic and crowds on a weekday morning. The animals are reasonably cared for and it takes a few hours to see them all, or you can walk briskly for exercise. The large lake and views give a feeling of space and there is food available. The school groups of little kids are fun to watch too. The entrance fee is 70 baht. You can hire bikes and boats though I preferred to stretch my legs.

You would expect a conservation centre to take care of the animals but most of the animals here look unhappy, underfed and lethargic.

A small zoo by comparison but the lake actually dominates it in size though there's extremely little to see in the lake. There was a handful of turtles, and a load of catfish (which can be seen in any expanse of water in Thailand anyway).

The "Petting area" consisted of around 4 goats and a cow and these had no space in which to move (for the animals), unfortunately.

It's a great idea to have a zoo because many Thai children would not even see some of these animals on tv so it's good that this is available but, I feel, poorly managed and underfunded.

I wouldn't go again.

Usually fairly empty during weekday mornings, it's a nice, green, inexpensive place to take the kids if you're in the area. As far as the animals go, some of them look a bit sad and their living environments are old-world (small area, concrete floors for some), but for little kids, it does the trick. The first time I went, I couldn't find half the animals, so ask for a map at the ticket booth!

This is an excellent place for family day trip. The place is well maintained, clean and most if not all the animals on display are healthy and cheerful. Some are even ready to pose for your cameras..LOL!! All the exhibits are clearly labelled, there is a standard free site map provided for every visitors right at the ticket counter. On top of this, it only cost me and my girlfriend THB100 per person to enter.

Spent a morning here with our kids. They enjoyed it, although the heat got a bit much. Some good places to buy cold drinks while walking around kept us cool. Entry was cheap, but you have to pay extra for shows and tram rides. The animals conditions weren't five star, but you could tell they are committed to improvement. The one thing I didn't enjoy was the elephant show. It was sad to see these wonderful creatures made to perform as they did.
