Owner description: This is one of the most popular shopping art complex that locate right at the HEART of Bangkok. Highly recognise as Art Shopping and a place to Shopping, recommended items are such as clothing by Thai Fashion Designer, shoes, handbags, Unique fashion accessories, jewelry and Thai souvenirs. Siam Center started operations in 1973 as Thailand's first shopping center of international standards. It marked the birth of Bangkok's booming retail business and has maintained its position as the city's fashion trendsetter up until today. After a major renovation, Siam Center reopened at the beginning of 2013 with a revolutionary retail development concept of "Ideaopolis". The shopping center serves as an arena of limitless imagination and creativity where art, fashion, technology and lifestyle converge. It aims to place Bangkok among the ranks of the world's top retail environments. Siam Center has also changed the face of Thailand's retail business with its unique "Absolute Siam" concept. For the first time in retail history, brand owners and retailers have joined forces to create new store designs for the shopping center that are distinct from any other branch. Moreover, 20% of the stores' offerings are unique to and only available at Siam Center. This is to create "the Most Powerful Retail Phenomenon", an unexpected and inspiring one-of-a-kind shopping experience for both Thai and foreign visitors.

“Siam Centre Fantastic Once Again!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

There are several mixed reviews for the malls that are connected in this area - but this is specifically for the newly renovated and born again Siam Centre. It opened yesterday with great fan fare - and caters to the younger generation. Fantastic one of a kind shops and great eating experiences. The building itself is forty years old, but they have gone to great effort to update the facade and bring in light as much as possible. The trendy shops are now much more visible and inviting with the new lighting throughout the complex. Come to Bangkok with an extra suitcase or two - you will need it once you're done shopping here.

“Good place to shop & discover”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

This is a good shopping mall for all kind of quality products. Not a bergain shopping mall but if you like to have some international brand products, this is a good place.

There is a Madame Tussaudes (wax meseum) at the top floor of this mall. This is also a good place for visiting.

“Typical malls in the middle of shopping central.”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Siam Center is closed for renovation. Its Website promises re-opening in December.

Normally, both of these places have typical mixes of stuff - but are both a bit small by current BKK shopping centre standards. We used to have light meals occasionally at UCC coffee on the ground floor of Siam Center, and at a couple of other places in both centres. Siam Center seemed to cater more to younger Thai women - we'll all see how this plays out in the renovation.
