“Unexpectedly brilliant”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

I only came here because I had time to kill but it was brilliant! You have to walk around with a guide but there are frequent tours, and only 100 BHT entry. Beautiful statues, authentic furniture and the story of jim Thompson is amazing.

“A little calm in the middle of Bangkok”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

For a tourist attraction that isn't all gilded this is lovely. The antiques he collected and the thai house you get shown around with a tour guide is a nice way to enjoy a little thai culture. It's right off the bts sky train and a 5 minute walk. They even have a courtesy tuk tuk to ferry you back to the station. A very nice way to spend a few hours without all the crowds.

“A place of great interest”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

A tranquil environment located at the end of a soi minutes away from the bustling commercial district. Entry was reasonably priced ( no foreigner price :) and the tour (included in the price) was interesting and well communicated by our guide. Jim Thompson had great style and taste and this was reflected in his home. A charming way to spend a couple of hours. The shuttle service would have benefitted from being more frequent.

“A must in Bangkok”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Jim Thompson's House is a must if you are in Bangkok and offers a great trip which is different to all of the other tourist attractions in the city. It's a little jewel in the city which is hidden away but should be sought out.

The guided tour we had was excellent and is available in Thai, English and French and the group sizes were not too big. Our guide (sadly can't remember her name) was superb and knew her history and information and was able to answer all questions thrown at her. It was surprising to find out at the end that she is a trainee so I'm sure the more experienced guides would be even more knowledgeable.

Jim Thompson played an important role in Bangkok's history so unless you are just in the city for the night life and to create your own Wolfpack, it's worth learning about the man and visiting his stunning home.
