We went to the Jim Thompson's house without any expectations and were pretty surprised how nice, interesting and different this visit was! It is also home to the Jim Thompson store where you can buy silk scarfs, clothes, etc... There is a restaurant on site. Visits are about an hour and are given in many languages... English, French, German, etc... Definitely worth the visit.

The home is beautiful. The story of Jim Thompson was interesting. They make you lock your bags, purses etc in a locker prior to the tour. Additionally you will need to leave your shoes behind. The home is beautiful & the tour was interesting. Its only about 30-40 minutes long & they offer the tour in 3 languages.
I had a small appetizer at the restaurant which was ok. The gift shop is very pricey.

A really beautiful old Thai house built by the founder of Jim Thompson silk. The house is now a major tourist attraction and the obligatory guided tour is rushed and impersonal. Still you should see the house once to appreciate perfection in interior design

What a nice Thaihouse in the center of Bangkok. A wonderful Thai building with a nice and friendly coffee-shop at the entrance. Reasonable price and beautiful settings.

This is a great little gem.

You can access via the sky train about a 400m walk from stadium station or via th can ferry similar walking distance.

You can wander around the gardens for free, or take paided guided tour up to you. Great place to relax if you have been temple treking all day.
