This is a must do for anyone to Bangkok. The experience is excellent. The goods are varied. You can spend more than an hour .

This was about a 15 min cab ride from our hotel. Lots of food that is ready to eat and lots of raw fruit and vegetables. Some boats are floating and sell their produce. We had the whole fish that is coated in salt and cooked. It was good. There are also clothing items for sale. We also took a long tail boat canal ride. It lasted 1.5 hours. We went to a smaller local market, a wat, and an orchid farm. It was fun to see the local homes along the canals.

Yes it is not a very big market, and yes there are not too many people selling food from their boats, but this market was more original, less touristy and closer to Bangkok. Didn't need a tour guide nor an entire day to visit. Took the boat ride which brought us to another small floating market. Try the fried bananas, they were awesome. Then we were taken to an orchid farm and back to the floating market. Food was awesome. Had lunch there. Inexpensive, great food from the boats. Bring cash, no credit.

It's set up for tourist; don't be afraid to make a very low offer compering to their first asking price. I was taken for a ride.
Don't rush to but from the boat; you can get the same article by walking around.
Combine this visit with the elephant place.

This market is small but there were mostly local tourists. This made it more pleasant to get a boat or a table to eat. I went to the old house museum and ate fresh papaya and drank fresh coconut juice at the garden. Very nice experience.
