I am a solo female American woman who was spending one night nearby before heading back to the States. Found this "hidden" bar on an internet list which did not mention a dress code and since it is hidden/unnamed, there is nowhere to go online to read about it directly from their business. I was underdressed, wearing sandals and a tee shirt with cropped striped pants. (I get it, hindsight being 20/20.) My problem is this: Tell me I am underdressed at the door. Don't invite me in and then have me sit there at a table for 15 minutes like an A-hole. No one would serve me. When I finally got up and walked around the place and flagged down a server/hostess woman, she said coldly: We have nothing available for you. I was like: "....uh....well, I'd like a drink and there are empty seats ev---" HER: "We have NOTHInG available for you." Total Pretty Woman moment. Which sucks because I had just gotten finished teaching English to orphans for 3 weeks in Khon Kaen and really could have used a craft cocktail.
