Appia restaurant serves up authentic Italian dishes originating mainly from Rome. The food is delicious and well-presented, but not particularly cheap. I have been many times - with colleagues, with family, with my husband, for special occasions and just because - and the service and quality have been consistently good. Best to book a table as it is very popular!

It's actually an Italian restaurant under the guide of a so-called authentic roman restaurant.

The pasta tastes more like macaroni and cheese and the cocktails taste no better than Pepsi.

At the same time the place charges exorbitant prices for minuscule amounts.

Appia serves authentic, clean Roman food in a charming ambience. The restaurant smells amazing thanks to the rotisserie in the back (with a small bar where you can eat if dining alone) and has a laid-back, warm feel with lots of wood and rustic touches.
We started with a chef's selection of meats and cheeses. The selection was good but not exceptional, with a nice manchego and 4-5 meats. The accompaniments were more noteworthy with a delicious pate and sautéed mushrooms and a selection grilled and pickled veggies.
We each had a pasta for dinner. The menu is not inventive but there are lots of well-prepared favorites to pick from (amatriciana, carbonara, bolognese). We didn't try the meats but the porchetta and the lamb ribs that went to other tables both looked amazing.
We finished with the tiramisu, which was nice but not the best I have had in Bangkok (which has some shockingly good tiramisu on offer). I will be going back for the lamb and for the warm ambience and service. Make sure to get a reservation!

I had dinner with friends at Appia a few nights ago. One of the finest meals I've ever had in a restaurant. The three of us shared 7 entree's, two at a time over the course of three hours. It was a very nice evening. The service was outstanding, the food to die for and the company wasn't bad either. We ordered both off the special menu and the everyday menu. When the bottle of red wine we chose was not available the owner offered us a bottle of Sicilian wine that he had in his own cellar, it too was fantastic.
