The canal smells and we've got a few splashes every time we ride the boat here. But this is one of our favorite experiences in Bangkok as you really get to travel how the locals do.
i have visited bangkok many times and have always relied on the BTS, MRT, and to a lesser extent, taxis to get around the city. This time, I decided to try the boat and it was a fun and fast experience. I enjoyed it so much, I will definitely use this mode of transport again the next time. The price was very very reasonable, and there was no traffic jam to grapple with, and if you take this during the off-peak hours, the ride was very pleasant. Just a tip : take the regular commuter boat instead of the tourist boat with the one-day pass, as the cost is much lower.
Used to reach Jim Thompson house . Very efficient way of transport in Bangkok, avoiding traffic jams and street traffic. Entertainment for kids and paying very decent fee. Strongly recommend. The ferry ⛴ normally goes every 15-20 min and if you miss next one is there soon. Mobile app map will help you with routes
The Khlong Saen Saep Boat Service is a great way to travel to and from many attractions if you are an adventerous tourist. It is very cheap per trip (the cost is less than .50 cents U.S.) and it has plenty of dropping you off near the inner city attractions. Experience it but wathchout for the black water gets to your cloth, moth, and eyes.
We were not sure about taking a boat but the hotel said it will be fine and it was just around the corner from our hotel Solitaire 11. Great way to travel and avoid the traffic and very cheap! Just hop on say where you want to go and they tell you how many stops and you are there. Great and fun experience and very cheap.
