I was introduced to this coffeeshop 6 years ago, and loved their cake(s), especially the 'fruity delight' . As Thai cakes are rarely made with real fresh cream, it is obviously difficult to give them the nice same flavour as we do in good old Europe.
I tried two or three more cakes, but then I went for coffee and cake in their Siam Paragon branch for the first time. It turned out a disaster.
They employ mainly dreamy untrained teenagers who have no idea of coffee and cake themselves.
I ordered a latte and a piece of cake. The cake was relatively fast, for the coffee I had to remind them twice. When it came, it was so hot that to me it seemed to have been warmed up in the microwave.
The overall atmoshere of this place is neither secret nor romantic. It's just one of many foodstalls arranged much too close to one another in the ground floor of this high end shopping 'paradise'.
