A Wat off Sukhumvit in central Bangkok, situated between Central World and Siam Paragon. Either Siam or Chidlom BTS is close by.
The "sandcastles" in the photographs are due to the tradition of carrying sand into the temple in order to replace the sand that has been carried out from the temple grounds sticking to visitors feet. It is not considered good to take anything from a Thai Temple, even unwillingly.
This is a very photegenic place with a wooded area at the rear. You wouldn't know that you are in the middle of Bangkok.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We have visited many Wats in our holiday, and we liked this one the best. The grounds were particularly beautiful - little sculpted areas with carvings, fountains, and beautiful monuments.

A temple worth visiting in the center of Bangkok (close to BTS Chit Lom). The surprise is the small forest middle in downtown Bangkok with beautiful statues. Often on Sunday people are bringing food wich is freely distributed. You also can request to stay there and sleep for 2,3 or 7 days.

The largest Wat of it's kind in the middle of the city sandwhiched in between CWP and Siam Paragon. Huge division into four compounds of the reception of few Wats directly over looking Radjadamri Road...the main Wat at the back of the monastery and a little wood park where you can relax and seek for peacefulness. The patron of this Wat is Rama 9 and Sirikit...one of the most scared sites and they have another Wat in Texas US which was built by him. It seems the abbot that passed away sometime ago is a well known figure. So you don't have to go to Erawan Shrine which is just across the street next to Grand Hyatt to seek for good luck or beauty...it's all total nonsense. They have weekly monastery classes with proper accommodation suitable for female monk-ship and reasonably fair
