This is a chinese restaurant not for travellers unless u are used to having luxury dinner everywhere you go. Went there with my family accompanied by a thai family friend. Makes ordering easier.Alot of local and business people dine for lobsters & suckling pig therefore is more of a pretigious place to go too. The food quality is good, taste good all these if you speak and understand thai you know what to order. Spent about 6000 bath more not a regular place for travellers.

We had lunch at this restaurant one day while visiting Bangkok’s famous Chinatown. The reason we picked this place was because it looked nice from the outside and didn’t have a row of duck carcasses hanging by the window! Inside, it was completely packed: families, suit-and-tie businessmen, as well as foreign tourists, all enjoying lunch at these big round tables. The hostess took us upstairs to another room which was quieter and less crowded. Nice contemporary décor, soft lighting, and with cool AC, this room was pleasant and relaxing. However, before we could decide what to order from the menu, a waiter suddenly appeared and practically shoved in our face a plate of roasted duck! We thought it was some sort of lunch special so we let him put it on our table (the waiter didn’t seem to speak or understand any English when we tried to talk to him). Then we ordered two more dishes: a deep fried fish with black bean sauce and a Shanghai-style stir fried mixed vegetables.

The fish dish was a disaster! There was more fried dough than fish! Same with the stir fried: the vegetables (mushroom, chinese cabbage, asparagus) were drowning in a tasteless, gooey and cornstarchy sauce! My partner noticed the mushroom had a strong metallic taste as if it came straight from a tin can. The only edible dish was actually the duck! Served with pickled ginger and boiled peanuts, the meat was quite tender and tasty. Unfortunately, it was also soaked in a sweet and heavily spiced sauce - completely overwhelmed the flavor of the duck meat and gave it a soggy unappetizing look! We asked the waiter for a bowl of steamed rice (to eat with the duck) but it never came!

Lunch for the two cost 1,250 Baht (about $45USD). It was the most expensive (and most disappointing) lunch we had during our entire month in Thailand! We had much, much better (and more reasonably priced) meals at many other restaurants all over the country.
